The equilibrium solubilities of three solid polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (acenaphthene, fluoranthene, and triphenylene) were determined at temperatures ranging from 308 K to 348 K and pressures from 121.6 to 354.6 bar in supercritical CO 2 . The data were obtained by using a simple static sampling apparatus which was tested by measuring the solubility of naphthalene in compressed CO 2 . The measured solubilities were correlated using a semiempirical model. The calculated results show satisfactory agreement with the experimental data.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
