Regularities in the transformation of optical coherence in the model three-level system, resulting from instability development and emission of a superradiance pulse, are considered. It is shown that the superradiance eliminates optical coherence on the adjacent optically allowed transitions and induces optical coherence on the optically forbidden transition. This, in turn, makes it possible to observe new effects of photon-echo type, some of which are described in the present paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
