We studied cell cultures isolated from the pulp of third molar germ of an adult human and from the skin of a human fetus on gestation day 10. Both cultures expressed similar repertoire of surface markers typical of multipotent mesenchymal cells (CD44, CD90, and CD105). Under in vitro conditions, dental pulp cells were more susceptible to factors inducing their differentiation into adipogenic, chondrogenic, and osteogenic lineage cells.
We studied the expression of TLR4 (Toll-like receptor 4) in the syncytiotrophoblast and vascular endothelial cells of terminal and stem placental villi in severe preeclampsia and normal pregnancy. In women of both groups, the expression of TLR4 was higher in the syncytiotrophoblast that in placental endothelial cells. In patients with severe preeclampsia, TLR4 expression in endothelial cells of terminal villi was 1.3-fold lower than in normal pregnancy. Lower TLR4 expression in the terminal villi endothelium in preeclampsia can underlie impaired recognition of damaging molecules with subsequent development of endothelial dysfunction and changes in immunological tolerance.
Annotation Purpose. Improving the efficiency of harvesting work based on the development of information tools for determining grain moisture. Methods. Method of regression analysis, method of planning and processing of experimental data using software packages – “Microsoft Office Excel 2010”, Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2015 in C ++, statistical method of processing research results. Results. Regression model of the dependence of the electric capacitance of the capacitor on the working area of the plates of the capacitor of the sensing element and the distance between the plates of the capacitor. Rational values of the parameters of the sensitive element of the grain moisture indicator. Conclusions 1. The NSC “IAEE” has developed a simple and reliable indicator of grain moisture, the principle of which is based on the change in dielectric constant between the plates of the capacitor. 2. A regression model of the dependence of the electric capacitance of the capacitor on the working area of the capacitor plates of the sensing element and the distance between the plates of the capacitor, which allowed to determine that at a capacitor plate area of 200 mm, the rational value of the distance between capacitor plates is 0.69 mm. 3. The values of the rational values of the distance between the plates of the capacitor of the sensitive element of the grain moisture indicator, which are obtained in theoretical calculations and experimental studies, differ by 15%. Keywords: grain, humidity, grain moisture indicator, primary converter, rational parameters.
Incidence of reported cases of genital herpes in different countries has increased dramatically during the last years, which is essentially caused by spread of asymptomatic or atypical types of herpes. Frequent relapses of herpes infection are characterized by changes in the immunological status. The authors of presented article analysed the findings of foreign and domestic studies on the treatment of the disease, systematized information about the features of antiviral chemotherapy drugs used in the treat-ment of genital herpes, identified criteria for the efficacy and duration of suppressive therapy, and the feasibility of its combination with courses of immunomodulatory drugs. The article summarizes the authors’ own experience in the treatment of genital herpes in 50 patients, who were randomly divided into 2 groups: (active treatment) group 1 consisted of 25 women who received antiviral (acyclovir and its analogues) and immunomodulatory therapy (aminodihydrophthalasindione sodium, suppositories), (comparison) group 2 consisted of 25 patients who received antiviral therapy only. The following were criteria for the inclusion of patients: genital herpes history, clinical presentation of genital herpes during the prodromal period or exacerbation, and no more than 48 hours after the rash occurred. The results of evaluation of the treatment effectiveness showed that the vesicles disappeared and the crusts formed during aminodihydrophthalasindione sodium therapy in the active treatment group of patients as early as Day 2-5 after starting treatment, while the acute phase of local inflammation in the comparison group was reversed only by Day 4-5. Complete reepitheli-alization occurred in the active treatment and comparison groups by Day 6-7 of the treatment. At the same time, the PCR test did not detect HSV-2 in smears in 24 (96.0%) women in the active treatment group and in 25 (88.0%) women in the comparison group. No one had any fresh rashes in the course of treatment with the drug. In addition, the authors reported prolongation of clinical remission in the active treatment group up to 5 months (up to 55 days on average). As can be seen from the above, the inclusion of immunomodulatory drugs in the combination specific antiviral therapy leads to faster achievement of the clinical effect, allows to reduce frequency of relapses and improves the patients’ quality of life.
One of the new trends in the study of the pathogenesis of preeclampsia (PE) is the study of the development of glycopathology in the functional mother-placenta-fetus system. Given the importance of carbohydrate-protein interactions for the morphogenesis of the placenta, interactions in the immune system, and the formation of tolerance to fetal alloantigens, anti-glycan antibodies (AgAbs), which can interfere with these interactions, changing them, may play a special role in the pathogenesis of PE. Since the production of antibodies occurs against the background of existing natural antibodies, as well as adaptive ones acquired during life, it is obvious that there are a significant number of factors that are interrelated with AgAbs, which is important for the pathogenesis and identification of risk factors for the disease. Objective: to determine the relationship between the content of AgAbs in the blood and clinical and laboratory parameters in patients with physiological pregnancy and PE.The study includes 146 pregnant women: the main group I consisted of 51 patients with moderate PE, the comparison group – 95 conditionally healthy pregnant women. Clinical and anamnestic data, peculiarities of the course of pregnancy, data of laboratory examinations, data of a representative spectrum of AgAbs were studied. AgAbs (IgG and IgM) were studied in serum using a glycoarray containing 473 glycans and 216 polysaccharides. To determine the relationship between the variables, the nonparametric Spearman rank correlation method was used for the analysis of quantitative data, and the Wilcoxon T-test for the analysis of qualitative data.It was found that in the main group there were more correlations between the level of AgAbs of various specificities and clinical and laboratory parameters than in the comparison group. A burdened gynecological and infectious history, complications during pregnancy are associated with changes in the profile of AgAbs of both classes in patients whose pregnancy is complicated by moderate PE, which indicates the pathogenetic significance of these antibodies. In healthy pregnant women, the level of antibodies to a number of glycans is reciprocally related to the number of lymphocytes, platelets, and ALT, which may indicate the regulatory role of these antibodies, since lymphocytosis, thrombocytopenia, and increased transaminases in the blood are pathological conditions. The revealed relationships between the AgAbs level and clinical-anamnestic and laboratory parameters indicate different patterns of correlation relationships in health and disease, which apparently indicates the pathogenetic
