Infrared Lattice Vibrations in Cu,GeSe,I nfrared reflectivity spectra of Cu,GeSe, are measured at room temperature in the waveiiumber range from 180 t o 4000 cm-l. From an analysis of the spectra the parameters of four vibrational modes are determined. The experimental results are compared with 1 redictions from group theory. From a comparison of the results for Cu,GeSe, with the 7 ibrational characteristics of other chalcogenides it follows that the force constants of t*ation-chalcogen bonds increase with increasing valence of the cation.
Infrared reflectivity and transmission spectra of Cu,GeS, are measured at room temperature in the wavenumber range from 180 to 4000 cm-'. From an analysis of the spectra the parameters of the fundamental infrared active lattice modes and of the two-phonon combination modes are determined. From a comparison of the experimental data with group theoretical predictions for the structure models proposed for Cu,GeS, in the literature it is concluded that Cu,GeS, crystallizes in a monoclinic lattice.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
