Durch fruhere Untersuchungen ist gezeigt worden, dals das metallische Cadmium mit Natrium mehrere bestimmte Verbindungen bildet , die in ihren Eigenschaften an die analogen Quecksilberderivate erinnern. Die charakteristischen Verbindungen NaCd,, NaHg,, KHg,, zu denen Maxima der Schmelztemperaturen in den entsprechenden binaren Systemen gehoren , einem und demselben chemischen RM,, wo R = Na, K; M = Hg, Cd ist. TYPus Die vorliegende Arbeit weist nach, d d s diese Ubereinstimmung der Typen auch bei anderen Verbindungen des Cadmiums mit Natrium beobachtet werden kann. Hier zeigt sich ganz deutlich die nahe Analogie im Verhalten des Cadmiums und Quecksilbers als Metallen der zweiten Gruppe des periodischen Systems. Wir benutzten fur unsere Untersuchung die Schmelzmethode und das Studium der Mikrostruktur. 1. Das Schmelzdiagramm. Zur Herstellung der Schmelzen wurden zu einer bestimmten, in einem eisernen Tiegel unter einer Paraffinschicht geschmolzenen Menge Natrium abgewogene Portionen Kadmium hinzugefugt ; das Vorgetragen in der chemischen Abteilung der Russ. phys.-chem.
