The anthropocentric nature of modern linguistics has led to the need to study not only the regularities of human communication but also the ways of their use in various communicative situations. The main communicative strategies and the specifics of the DEBTOR's language means were characterized in this article. The article discusses the effectiveness of the chosen tactics in the communication process. The paper readdresses the phenomenon of a communicative strategy and tackles the ways the chosen strategies control the communicative process aimed at achieving communicative goals and the selection of speech techniques that allow achieving the set goals in a specific situation. Special attention is paid to the analysis of behavioral activities and verbal means used by a DEBTOR in Sophie Kinsella's novel "Confessions of a Shopaholic". The paper argues that DEBTOR’s communicative strategies depend on the specific situation and psychological characteristics of the addressee. The material of the study is presented in the form of the types of speech strategies in the framework of the communication process in Sophie Kinsella's novel "Confessions of a Shopaholic". The objects of analysis are communicative strategies as a set of speech actions. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to establish an inventory of communicative strategies for successful communication as the main component of the debtor, the importance of identifying the most productive strategy, and the formation of positive behavior during communication. The article highlights the following strategies that are productive in DEBTOR’S speech: Termination, Topic Control, Topic Shifting, and Repair Strategy. Such strategies as Nomination, Restriction, and Turn Taking belong to the least productive ones. The result of the study is the matrix of 7 types of communicative strategies from the most frequent to the least used in DEBTOR's speech. From the perspective of research, there may be the establishment of communicative strategies in political discourse, politicians' speeches, and thematic webinars to discuss various aspects of the problem.

The article suggests a novel approach to the study of the English phrasal verbs, which is currently at the frontier of the cognitive syntagmatics. Based on the works in this domain, this paper specifies the definition of phrasal verbs as cognitive-semantic complexes which represent / describe a certain fragment of multi-dimensional knowledge of the matrix format. Particular attention is paid to the critical analysis of the scholars’ views on the problem of the second component of these entities, which to this day are not univocal both in terms of discussing their functions performed in the structure of the phrasal verbs, and of their morphological nature and the associated terminology. It is assumed that the semantics of the phrasal verbs is created by the interaction of the conceptual structures of both the verb, and its second component, where the abstract meaning of the latter gives wide opportunities for evolving of new meanings. In this case, the function of both components of a compositionally complex linguistic unit or a cognitive-semantic complex, which is a phrasal verb, consists in the profiling of certain aspects of the situation described by this formation, contributes to the new properties, which otherwise cannot be individually described/labelled by none of its components: neither the verb nor the post-positive component. It has been proved that the English language possesses a characteristic cognitive-semantic construct “verb + postpositive component” that reflects a certain grammatical pattern of the combinatorial construction of phraseological entities bases on the mechanisms of conceptual integration, when the metaphorical selection of the verb initial mental space and the initial space of the postpositive component form a new blend - a new conceptual structure which absent in the initial mental spaces of each of the components.
Bober Keywords: human emotional state , phrasal verbs, British national corpus, cognitive matrix.Abstact. The article attempts to reveal the cognitive and semantic nature of phrasal verbs complexes to denote human emotional states in the British National Corpus and the matrix relations between these entities were demonstrated. The synthesis of the characteristics of the 8 groups of human emotions, developed by psychologists B.I. Dodonov, K.Izard, P. Ekman and which form the cognitive matrix, where, among other things, the conceptual-integration function is performed by the phrasal verbs complexes of the English language used for their designation. The tendency towards low productivity is the expression of different phrasal verbs that denote different emotional states of a person, while a high frequency is demonstrated by phrasal-participle formations together with the verb to be and just basic verbs of emotions.
