A study was made of the chemiluminescence in the course of initiated oxidation of sunflower oil with a luminescence activator in the presence of natural phenols. The kinetic parameters k 2 /H ! k 1 were determined, which take into account the appearance of chemiluminescence and characterize the antioxidative activity of the phenols.
The influence of extraction conditions on the yield of natural antioxidants from leaves of bearberry (Arctostaphylos adans) has been studied. It is established that more complete extraction is ensured by maceration with water in a constant electric field (U = 35 V and I = 250 mA) for 2 h at a temperature of 30°C with continuous stirring. The proposed method of obtaining extracts with antioxidant properties increases the efficiency and rate of extraction of phenolic compounds, reduces the process temperature, and decreases the time of thermal processing of the extract. At a concentration of 0.1 wt.%, the bearberry extract obtained under such conditions ensures a twofold increase in the resistance of sunflower oil to oxidation. 504 0091-150X/06/4009-0504
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
