Considerando-se que a proporção de idosos na população vem aumentando expressivamente nas últimas décadas, é bastante pertinente a ideia de rever particularidades das afecções digestivas nessa faixa etária. A doença do refluxo gastresofágico (DRGE), considerada uma das afecções digestivas de maior prevalência nos países ocidentais 1 , apresenta particularidades no idoso. O objetivo deste capítulo é apresentar uma revisão sobre o tema, contribuindo para o diagnóstico e o tratamento da doença em idosos.
ICH were 483, pure parenchymal ICH in 363, ICH with IVH in 87,Pure IVH in 33,Age range(14-80yrs), Risk factor were SHT in 300, DM in 75. CVST were 228, Risk factors were post partum in 36, Alcoholism in 93, Fever with dehydration in 60, OCP intake in 15 and CNS infection in 6 patients. SAH were 63, Age range(23-80yrs), aneurysmal bleed in39, SHT in 24. SDH were 75, Age range was (26yrs-80yrs), post traumatic in 69 and 6 patients were anticoagulant induced. Conclusion: The predominant stroke was Ischemic (67%), Alcohol and tobacco were the major risk factors in the younger age group and low socioeconomic status. 13% of the Ischemic stroke patient came within the time window and 7.5% thrombolysed successfully. CVST accounted for9%, alcohol was major risk factor. ICH accounted for 18% and SHT was major risk factor. SAH accounted for 3%, and SDH in 3%.
