This study reviewed the process of discussion and the present state related to the permission of product placement (PPL) in Korea. This study also reviewed opinions for or against PPL-related laws and regulations and the relaxation of PPL restrictions. The responses of stakeholders and PPL-related discussions of the academic and government organizations were addressed through public hearings and forums when PPL was restricted by the Broadcasting Act. Finally, this study reviewed the present state after the permission of PPL, including PPL-related laws and regulations and PPL selling methods. In January 2010, as the revised bill of the enforcement ordinance of the Broadcasting Act was approved in a Cabinet meeting, PPL was permitted for terrestrial broadcasting and cable channels. The broadcast advertising market is expected to continue expanding in the future.
This paper will describe the development of an improved methodology for accurately analyzing and interpreting data regarding the condition of sanitary sewer systems. The proposed methodology enables fast and accurate assessment, which is significant in building a sewer condition database for asset management. The inspection system obtains optical data from the Sewer Scanner and Evaluation Technology (SSET). Multiple neural networks are developed to classify the pipe defect features and a fuzzy logic system suggested to filter and fusion the multiple neural network outputs.
A Ab bs st tr ra ac ct t While Category 1 and Category 2 bridges are intensively inspected and carefully managed, many small bridges that are not in the Category 1 and 2 are often forgotten until they decay in serious condition. Since many of these small bridges located in the populated city, failure of them would cause huge negative impact on the community. This paper focuses on the small size concrete bridges for timely repair and rehabilitation work for the effective operation and management. Test bed is developed to define the key parameters to forecast the long term performance of the bridges, mostly concrete box bridges. Key parameters suggested in this paper are cumulative fatigue due to repetitive heavy traffic loads and the acid attacks for concrete material deterioration. The cumulative fatigue is measured by the use of the mileage concept. For the long term data collection and inspection, stable and easy to use data collection system is installed as a test bed. The contribution of this research work is on the development of the test bed to define the key parameters of bridge deterioration.
