Utilizando datos del sistema bancario ecuatoriano del periodo 2000-2018, se analizan variables macroeconómicas y efectos propios de las instituciones bancarias como factores determinantes del riesgo de crédito, evaluado a través de un enfoque de datos de panel estático. Los resultados indican que las condiciones macroeconómicas y financieras del país son un medio para explicar la probabilidad de default de los préstamos otorgados por los bancos. En particular, los factores que influyen en el riesgo de crédito del sistema privado bancario ecuatoriano son la tasa del crecimiento del PIB, variables gubernamentales, tasa de crecimiento de los créditos, las provisiones y la rentabilidad. Introducción. El sector agrícola representa el tercer lugar en el Ecuador. En Cotopaxi, de 71 empresas agrícolas, el 9,85% son grandes y el 60,57% Pymes. El sector agrícola en las Pymes ha presentado una deficiente organización administrativa específicamente en la gestión del control interno. Objetivo. Analizar la gestión del control interno como pilar del gobierno corporativo y su incidencia en los resultados financieros, de las medianas y grandes empresas del sector agrícola de Cotopaxi. Metodología. El estudio es cuantitativo, de tipo correlacional, de corte transversal aplicado al nivel ejecutivo de 22 empresas. La evaluación del gobierno corporativo se realizó considerando la metodología de las buenas prácticas del código Dubái. Resultados. Los resultados indican una correlación positiva y significativa entre el entorno de control y los indicadores ROE y ROA. Conclusiones. La gestión del control interno incide en los resultados financieros, de manera que la evidencia de este estudio es generalizable para las Pymes. En este contexto, el aporte de la investigación es un modelo de gestión de control interno a partir del gobierno corporativo, que influya en un mejor desempeño aportando valor, solidez y eficiencia para las Pymes del sector agrícola.
Introducción. La problemática que atañe a las Pymes comerciales es la operatividad interna, la organización, el modelo de negocios, el control interno y el incentivo a los trabajadores. Objetivo. Analizar la gestión del control interno a partir de la aplicación del gobierno corporativo y su incidencia en los resultados financieros de las empresas del sector comercial de Cotopaxi. Metodología. El análisis empírico se realizó en una muestra de 18 empresas, donde las medidas de gobierno corporativo se analizaron bajo la metodología de la Corporación Financiera Internacional (IFC), las medidas de los resultados financieros se aproximaron mediante el rendimiento del activo (ROA) y rendimiento de patrimonio (ROE). Se empleó el enfoque de causalidad de Granger para determinar la correlación de variables y finalmente, se utilizó el método deductivo a fin de extraer una conclusión sobre el modelo de gestión de control interno. Resultados. Se encontró una relación de causalidad unilateral significativa entre los subindicadores de control interno y propiedad con las medidas de los resultados financieros Conclusión. Se resalta la importancia del establecimiento de un modelo de gestión de control interno como mecanismo para incidir en un mejor desempeño de las Pymes comerciales.
El objetivo de este estudio es analizar cómo los factores internos, macroeconómicos y de gobernabilidad que afectan el desempeño financiero de las cooperativas de ahorro y crédito ecuatorianas con activos superiores a cinco millones de dólares durante el periodo 2010 – 2020, utilizando datos de panel con efectos fijos. Los resultados de las variables específicas muestran que una alta rentabilidad está asociada con un mayor ratio de capital, tamaño y diversificación; mientras que la eficiencia, el riesgo de crédito y liquidez tienen un efecto negativo. Por otra parte, se evidencia que el impacto del crecimiento del PIB, la inflación y el desempleo es negativo. Finalmente, considerando los indicadores de gobernabilidad, los hallazgos demuestran una relación positiva con las dimensiones efectividad gubernamental y calidad regulatoria; mientras que existe una relación inversa con las variables de voz y rendición de cuentas, estado de derecho, control de la corrupción y estabilidad política.
