[fr] Le manuscrit de Paris, BnF, arabe 4235 est une copie fragmentaire du dictionnaire al-Bāri‘ d’Abū ‘Alī l-Qālī (m. 356/967) ayant appartenu à un certain Ibrāhīm b. Ḥumām b. Aḥmad sur qui nous ne connaissons rien. En revanche, son père, Ḥumām b. Aḥmad al-Uṭrūš, a vécu à Cordoue de 357/968 à 421/1030. Il y enseignait, entre autres, la langue et la poésie et, en même temps, copiait des livres pour gagner sa vie pendant les dures années de la crise califale. Une glose au folio 22b, tirée d’un codex personnel d’Abū ‘Alī l-Qālī laisse penser que son transcripteur avait accès aux documents de celui-ci, et montre que le manuscrit parisien provient d’un milieu cordouan privilégié. Le soin orthographique et philologique accordé à cette copie ainsi que son style graphique singulier font d’elle plutôt l’oeuvre d’un maître de langue que le travail d’un copiste scrupuleux. Outre le contexte de sa production, des indices codicologiques et paléographiques militent en faveur d’une datation de la fin du IVe/Xe siècle voire du début du siècle suivant.
Cet article vise à présenter une inscription libyque gravée sur une stèle funéraire, découverte à ‘ Aïn ‘ Onsar près de Tanger. C’est la première stèle libyque du Maroc dont le lieu de découverte est aussi précis. Elle comporte dix-huit caractères où figure l’énigmatique formule (V כ +). Ses caractéristiques paléographiques permettent de la classer parmi les stèles déjà trouvées dans la région d’Anjra, zone située entre Tanger, Tétouan et Ceuta. Sur ces stèles, les inscriptions utilisent un même alphabet libyque, en vogue dans cette région à l’époque romaine.

François Pétis de La Croix enseigna l’arabe au Collège royal de Paris de 1692 à 1713. À ses élèves, en très petit nombre, il dictait une grammaire de l’arabe littéral en français, réduite à l’essentiel. Tout en restant tributaire des paradigmes gréco-latins, il formulait des remarques utiles aux débutants et recourait à des activités didactiques variées, allant de l’autodictée jusqu’au thème. Il donnait ensuite quantité d’expressions et de propos de contenu léger, issus des méthodes pour étrangers en usage en Orient, avec transcription et traduction, conformément à un projet pédagogique conçu dès sa jeunesse : ces matériaux ressortissaient au moyen arabe. Après l’initiation à l’emploi du dictionnaire arabe-latin qu’il avait lui-même composé, il passait à la traduction de livres choisis dans la bibliographie disponible à l’époque. Ses leçons évoluèrent par petites touches, rapprochant progressivement la variété de langue utilisée de l’arabe littéral.
Résumé
De par son ancienneté, le Ǧāmiʿ de Maʿmar Ibn Rāšid (m. 153/770) occupe une place cruciale dans l’histoire de la transmission des hadiths. Composé très tôt à Sanaa, il a servi de source principale aux différents recueils canoniques de l’islam sunnite. L’auteur en est un disciple de Qatāda Ibn Diʿāma (m. 118/735) et de Hammām Ibn Munabbih (m. 132/750), entre autres. Un des premiers transmetteurs d’al-Ǧāmiʿ est Abū Bakr ʿAbd al-Razzāq al-Ṣanʿānī (m. 211/826) qui l’enseignait en même temps que son recueil al-Muṣannaf, d’où la confusion entre les deux recueils. Le manuscrit d’Ankara fournit la preuve éclatante qu’il s’agit là d’un recueil autonome. Copié à Tolède, sur parchemin et daté de 364/974, ce manuscrit est aujourd’hui la plus ancienne copie connue de ce texte et, en même temps, l’un des rares manuscrits andalous du IVe/Xe siècle qui nous soient parvenus. Les nombreux actes de récitation (qirāʾa) figurant notamment dans les pages des titres de ses fascicules lui procurent une valeur supplémentaire et permettent d’en reconstituer l’histoire et identifier les personnages qui l’ont étudié et ceux qui l’ont diffusé. Le manuscrit nous renseigne sur deux siècles de transmission continue, d’abord à Tolède, puis à Huesca, ensuite à Valence, sous l’autorité de personnages célèbres qui furent tous cadis de leur ville.
