Energy Efficiency is one of the key elements of the Environment-Economic aspect of the three spheres of sustainability. To make any business sustainable in the light bulb industry, it could be applied as a strategy to gain competitive advantage in the functional level. This paper investigates the market awareness of environmentally friendly products such as the energy efficient light bulb (or energy bulb) and its market availability, demand, quality and brightness, low waste (e-waste), sustainable consumption (durability), warranty, commission rate, and profitability. It also finds that energy efficiency and low waste are valuable strategies to create market demand for energy bulbs to make sustainable profit and product stewardship eventually to contribute to the e-waste management. A 500 sample survey is conducted in Bangladesh to analyze the energy bulb buyers’ and sellers’ view about this product locally. After the results and interpretation through descriptive statistics and regression of the variables, this study finally draws a pathway model to show that sustainable energy definitely leads to sustainable business. From the buyers’ point of view, sustainable consumption and low waste as well as from the sellers’ point of view profit and sustainable product both support sustainable business backed by sustainable strategy, energy efficiency being the key. To make the competitive advantage enduring, ensure profitability and profit growth for the shareholders of the corporate world, especially the electrical and electronics industry; with the energy bulb in particular, an energy efficiency strategy could be implemented in businesses worldwide. As the COP26 (The 2021 United Nations Conference on Climate Change) limits the global warming rise by 1.5%, energy bulb has been the pioneer in promoting sustainable products to adopt the sustainable strategy to limit carbon emissions globally.
The sources of environmental problems were acknowledged to stem from industrialization and the ever-increasing consumption of materials and energy (Ashford et al., 2012). In the meantime, the fossil fuels are being replaced by renewable energy from home to industry worldwide. Thus, technological evolutions and environmental concerns are two of the macro-environmental factors to the European energy industry (Xerfi Global, 2009). The first one is of positive while the second one is very negatively influential. The financial crisis and the subsequent lack of credit availability lead the European Energy operators to redefine their strategy. Along, increasing concern regarding climate change has led to adopt EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS); the Member states are bound to reach some targets. Therefore, this script presents the vision of conceptualizing sustainability in the European energy industry exploring the view of growth, efficiency and effectiveness from different literature.
Food insecurity is a global problem mainly generated by financial issues, critical geopolitical situations and constantly changing weather conditions that have direct effects on availability and prices of food products. These issues reduce capacity to manage the available resources with the consequence of obtaining an approximate distribution of food all over the world. Food insecurity involves multiple population groups and different generations, including University students. In order to evaluate the relationship between food insecurity and University students investigated from different points of view, this article provides a systematic literature review dedicated to this topic with the aim of identifying any research gaps. For this purpose, a selection of 29 articles was created and the subsequent analysis highlighted the main objectives dedicated to this topic i.e. "Food safety, nutrition and health", "Food safety and determinants", "Food security linked to financial issues", "Food security linked to school performance" and "Food security and socio-demographic variables". In particular, food insecurity exists in campuses mainly due to living costs, income and budget, dietary priority; it affects physical health, mental health and ultimately impactson students' academic performance. All surveys mainly concern individual University campuses in countries developed or in development and therefore a lack of studies dedicated to the comparison of campuses belonging to countries with different socio-economic conditions is highlighted. In light of the results obtained, the authors propose further comparative studies on the perception of food insecurity among University campuses in different geographical areas in order to provide new knowledge on the subject.
