O objetivo deste artigo é analisar experimentalmente o comportamento da resistência à compressão e a retração plástica do concreto, sofrendo três situações distintas de cura: às mesmas condições de cura realizadas na laje do 7° pavimento de uma obra na cidade de Campinas-SP, sem cura, e com cura submersa. O concreto utilizado para o experimento deste trabalho foi elaborado em central de dosagem, transportado e misturado através de caminhão betoneira. Para sua caracterização mecânica foram moldados 28 corpos de prova adensados manualmente, que foram ensaiados aos 3, 7 e 28 dias. Os resultados dos ensaios de resistência à compressão aos 28 dias estão apresentados de forma decrescente: cura submersa, cura executada na obra e sem cura. Os resultados dos ensaios de resistência à compressão apresentaram-se conforme o esperado. Para avalição da retração plástica foram moldadas 3 placas, que foram submetidas às mesmas condições de cura dos corpos de prova. A análise qualitativa das placas mostrou que apenas a placa que estava sob as mesmas condições de cura da laje apresentou um leve mapeamento, sendo que os demais tipos de cura não apresentaram diferenças significativas.
