Complex permittivity (ε', ε'') of soil sample of Western Rajasthan region is measured at 9.385 GHz for various moisture content at a temperature of 200c. The dielectric constant of dry soil is found in good agreement with literature values. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of moist soil increases with increase in moisture content in soil. The dielectric data is used to calculate ac conductivity and emissivity.
Dielectric response (ε', ε'') of nine different dry and water saturated sandstone samples of Rajasthan were measured in the frequency range 200MHz-20GHz. Result has been presented in the form of variation with frequency which showed characteristics features. The change observed in dielectric characteristic with water saturated sample is interpreted as existence of water molecules in free space of sandstones samples. The mechanisms that influence the dielectric values of sandstone are strongly dependent on the frequency of electromagnetic field. The ac conductivity, bulk density and porosity were also measured for dry and water saturated sandstone samples.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
