Many research studies have proposed that about two-thirds of the medicinal plant species of the world possess significant antioxidant potential. Antioxidants are very beneficial as they decrease oxidative stress (OS) in cells and hence play their role in management as well as treatment of numerous diseases like cancers, cardiovascular diseases, as well as many inflammatory illnesses. This review comprises the antioxidant potential of numerous parts of medicinal plants like leaves, stems, roots, seeds, fruits, as well as bark. Synthetic antioxidants named butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) as well as butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) are extensively employed in foods because of their role as food preservatives. Several natural antioxidants have better efficacy as compared to synthetic antioxidants. These medicinal plants include Gera-
Cds and CdTe both are effective absorber semiconductors for thin-film solar cells. It is a naturally n-type material, which has a direct bandgap value of 2.42 eV at room temperature It has great importance in light detectors in this work, CdS thin films (TF) were synthesized on glass substrates by RF Magnetron sputtering technique in an inert gas atmosphere. The electrical properties of CdS were characterized by the Van Der Pauw method. The films showed p-type conductivity, while the films deposited at different annealed times exhibited n-type conductivity. The resistivity of the CdTe films decrease as the conductivity increased. As the source rate was increased, the hole concentration in the as-grown p-type CdTe films increased. It was also reported annealing process affects the electrical properties. Al doping CdS the value of resistivity becomes minimum as the resistivity becomes maximum although mobility has maximum value after an increase in Al doping the mobility value. As a result, the CdS/CdTe thin-film showed enhanced electrical properties for solar cell applications.
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of onion peel tea supplementation on body composition, lipid profile, serum glucose concentration, blood glucose level, hypercholesterolemia-related risk factors, cardiovascular disorders in obese, and overweight females. Females attending Diabetic center National Hospital with a Basal metabolic index greater than 25 are randomly selected, assigned to the control group, aerobic training (AT), Onion Peel tea Supplementation (OPT), as well as AT and OPT groups. OPT group received 33 mg of onion peel tea supplementation after every meal a day in addition to AT for 6 months including 90 min of AT sessions that helped get 80% of the target heart rate. One week before the study and 3 days after the last AT session, all participants were subjected to take their blood samples. In comparison to control group weight, total body fat percentage including visceral fat and subcutaneous fat, body mass index (BMI), high-density lipoproteins (HDL), low-density lipoproteins, blood pressure, heart rate, and triglycerides show a significant decrease in AT and AT+OPT groups. No significant changes were obtained in HDL and waist to hip ratio. AT gave beneficial effects in improving Cardiovascular risk factors, hypertension, and LDL.
The primary goal of this study was to investigate the prevalence of vitamin B12 insufficiency in various age groups. It is descriptive cross-sectional research in which 180 individuals were assessed for vitamin B12 from the district of Bahawalpur. Patients were placed into groups based on their ages. BMI and serum B12 levels were analyzed and a questionnaire was filled out by them. Data were statistically analyzed through T-test, ANOVA followed by post-hoc Dunnette T3 test, and frequency by Chi-square test. Results revealed that Vitamin B12 statically differed in groups of marital status, sun exposure/day/hour, diet groups, diabetic groups, and age groups. While BMI differed according to different weight groups, sun exposure/day/hour, diabetic groups. The frequency of all the groups statistically differed in all the groups. BMI had a negative correlation with the Vitamin B12 level. It was concluded that the male population was not at risk but the old population at the risk of low levels of vitamin B12.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
