The quality of teaching and learning improvement lies in its effectiveness that promotes teachers' teaching styles and its alignment with the pupils' learning styles has a vital impact in teaching-learning process at the university level. The current study explored the teachers' preferred teaching styles with pupils' learning performance in public sector universities in Punjab province. The population was all public sector universities students currently enrolled in the year 2019 to onward. The sample comprised three hundred students studying in different semesters at GC University Faisalabad and University of Education Faisalabad Campus. The researchers used an adapted instrument, "Grasha-Riechmann Teaching-Styles Inventory," with an Alpha reliability value (.931). The Data analysis was made were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings revealed that male teachers had used teaching styles more confidently than those female teachers. It was concluded that male pupils have higher learning performance than of female students. The researchers suggested that teachers should prepare a variety of teaching styles in developing and utilizing effective learning among students to improve the classroom learning environment.
The need for virtual and online learning has been increased with the rapid growth of modern technology and knowledge, but the speed and volume of learning fluctuate. The study in hand is an intention to investigate the problems faced by parents’ during online learning and their managing strategies at university level. In addition it explored the role of parents towards the education of their children. The self-developed instrument, Parents’ Online Survey [POS], was used. The findings of the study showed that a statistically significant difference between male and female parents about the problems faced by parents during online education of their kids and as well as managing strategies of those problems. It revealed that male parents (fathers) were more conscious about the problems of their kids as they were the sole responsible to explore the solutions of those problems as compared with females (mothers). Parents use different management techniques to improve the virtual learning environment of the students like creating an ideal learning environment to their children, providing information technology and removing the learning barriers their kids face during virtual and online learning. They also managed the noise distortion, financial barriers encountered the non-academic attitude of the parents. It was suggested that there should be proper facilitation may be provided by the government to parents while starting the virtual and online sessions for students.
The study aimed to analyze the effect of problem-solving teaching methods in mathematics on the achievements of elementary level students. The major objective of the study was to; i. To compare the mathematics academic achievements and ability of problem-solving among 7th class students taught through traditional and problem-solving teaching methods. 7th class students of Govt.Secondary School 47 NB Sargodha were divided into two groups and randomly assigned as contro land experimental groups. Two tests were validated through peer review, expert opinion and pilot testing; one “Problem Solving Ability Test in mathematics” (PSATM) and “Achievement Test in mathematics” (ATM) for 7th grade were used as pre-test and post-test. The experiment was conducted for a period of six weeks. The t-test and ANOVA were applied for data analysis. The major conclusion was that the participants treated with a new method of problem-solving teaching showed better results than the participants taught by traditional teaching methods in the achievement test and problem-solving ability test. It is recommended that elementary level mathematics teachers teach the students by using problem-solving teaching methods in their lesson plans for the development of problem-solving ability among learners.
