Current study was aimed to formulate a nutritious snack bar by incorporating date pit powder (by product) and soy protein isolate in date paste. Date bars were formulated after ingredients optimization and were analyzed for physico-chemical, in-vitro starch and protein digestibility, antioxidants and microbial count. Results showed that date bars are rich source of protein, fiber, carbohydrates and fat with good digestibility properties. Date pit powder and soy protein isolate incorporation enhanced the total antioxidants and DPPH activity in soy date bars however, decreasing trend was observed in total antioxidants and inhibition of DPPH radical activity during 90 days of storage. Based on the results, it has been suggested that date bars may be considered as a source to meet the energy requirements of health-conscious consumers. Moreover, date pit powder and soy protein isolate can be used as nutraceutical in different functional foods as a valuable nourishment source for target population.
Abstract-In recent years, due to increase in data complexity and manageability issues, data warehousing has attracted a great deal of interest in real life applications especially in business, finance, healthcare and industries. As the importance of retrieving the information from knowledge-base cannot be denied, data warehousing is all about making the information available for decision making. Data warehouse is accepted as the heart of the latest decision support systems. Due to the eagerness of data warehouse in real life, the need for the design and implementation of data warehouse in different applications is becoming crucial. Information from operational data sources are integrated by data warehousing into a central repository to start the process of analysis and mining of integrated information and primarily used in strategic decision making by means of online analytical processing techniques (OLAP). Despite the applications of data warehousing techniques in number of areas, there is no comprehensive literature review for it. This survey paper is an effort to present the applications of data warehouse in real life. It focuses to help the scholars knowing the analysis of data warehouse applications in number of domains. This survey provides applications, case studies and analysis of data warehouse used in various domains based on user preferences.
Fish nutritionist have been working to formulate a fish feed with less pollution causing agents. Plants by-products have been used as alternative to fish meal for both the purposes and experiments remain successful for some fish species. The present study was aimed to determine the sunflower meal suitability with citric acid supplementation for Labeo rohita by observing growth parameters. Three diets were prepared as 0, 15 and 30 g/kg citric acid. The fish were fed with experimental diets for two months. Results showed that the fish fed 0% citric acid had low phosphorus and calcium digestibility than that fed higher levels 15 and 30 g/kg of citric acid (p < 0.05). The growth performance of L. rohita was higher at the 30 g/kg supplementation level of citric acid and decreasing trend was observed with the decreasing level of citric acid. The above results indicated that the supplementation of CA could substitute the inclusion of inorganic phosphorus in L. rohita diets and the supplementation level was suggested to be 30 g/kg.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
