This article provides an overview of related literature covering the wide range of issues pertaining to the problems and coping strategies in general from the Islamic worldview. There are many integrative methods and means provided in the Islamic authentic sources of the Holy Qur'an, Sunnah and the Islamic heritage as well as the modern methods. The novel aspect of this article is that apart from drawing theoretical conclusion from the existing work of coping mechanism, it is to integrate the Islamic principle pertaining to helping others in a way to address obvious inadequacies in the existing services offered to the Muslims. Therefore, it is appropriate to unearth the influence of Islamic belief and practices on man's relationship with Allah and his relationship with mankind, on his ways of coping with the challenges and problems in his daily lives. From a review of literature, faith or belief influences the way individuals view and relate to God; and how religion in general is used to cope with difficult life circumstances. Discussions related to the field of education always centered the attention of scholars in whatever circumstances of Muslims, either in the position of progressive or regressive. This situation posits the significance of education in the human civilization of shaping the personality of the ummah and towards the development of the country. Amongst the Islamic scholars that contributed to this field is Muhammad Rashid Rida. His conceptual thoughts on education are seen to be relevant as a reference in the realm of modern education. Henceforth, this article aims to identify the views of Muhammad Rashid Rida towards the concept of education, teaching and learning processes and the dualism issue in the educational system within the Islamic circle. This research paper adopting the approach of qualitative by its primary source is obtained through the content analysis on the magazine Al-Manar. The research findings indicate the thoughts of Muhammad Rashid Rida in the aspect of education is comprehensive and covers the whole stages of education. He also emphasizes the requirement of reforming in few aspects in order to get an education as the agent of reviving the triumph of ummah's civilization.
This article discusses the issue of islah and tajdid that took place during the time where Islamic civilizations is at a stagnant point from making contributions to the world and how far islah and tajdid act as one of the methods in rebuilding Islamic civilizations. Amongst the subjects that will be analyzed are those related to islah and tajdid concept as mentioned in the al-Quran and hadith as well as the opinions of Islamic notables. Other than that, this article also talks about the scope and method of islah that became the focus of mujaddid when making improvements and renewals as a respond towards problems faced by the Muslims. The focus and the approach of mujaddid in executing the duty of islah and tajdid can be seen in the aspects of politics, religion, social, education and others. Another aspect which has also being discussed is those related to the objectives to be achieved in islah and tajdid movement based on the Islamic perspectives. This article reviewed some al-Quran verses that touched on the issue of islah and tajdid whether directly or indirectly. Finally, it is found that islah and tajdid is an important process practiced by the Muslims to return the golden age of Islamic civilizations based on the guidelines set in Islam.
