Palabras claveProyecto. arquitectura. Urbanismo. Paisajismo. Wang Shu. Pintura China. All the City Was a Landscape. Nature, Architecture and Painting in the Work of Wang Shu.According to Wang Shu, experiencing his architecture is like contemplating traditional Chinese landscape painting. It differs from western art, because is not concerned about the expression of the author's visual sensibility through descriptions of light, space and objects. It does not depict subjects through color but by outlining them in dark ink and a few color shades. These artists never paint from nature; they use to be philosophers and poets too, besides mastering many other technical and humanistic subjects; they often dwell in the loneliness of the chosen sceneries before working them up on the canvas, so to understand directly how nature operates, that same natural system where they belong, and that same knowledge he will later share with us through his art.To arise in us that kind of living experience is also-according to Wang Shu-the main purpose of his architecture.
