Considerada um gênero híbrido, a capa de revista permite o desenvolvimento de capacidade de análise de informações que estão explícitas e implícitas, contribuindo para a construção de diferentes conhecimentos e para a ampliação da interpretação de textos multimodais. Deste modo, as capas de revistas são uma ferramenta interessante para o desenvolvimento da capacidade crítica e interpretativa de elementos textuais e visuais. A interpretação é uma habilidade fundamental para todas as áreas do conhecimento, tendo uma aplicação significativa nas ciências da natureza onde o recurso visual é muito importante para o entendimento. Dentro desta perspectiva o presente relato de aula teve como pergunta fundadora: como a análise de capas de revistas pode auxiliar na sensibilização da temática de impactos ambientais em estudantes de terceiro ano do ensino médio? Objetivou-se nessa aula exercitar a análise da liberdade de expressão a partir de produtos midiáticos; analisar o público-alvo e o meio de divulgação de reportagens; refletir e compreender a capa de revista como um gênero textual ligado ao jornalismo; compreender o uso dos diferentes recursos expressivos em textos da esfera jornalística; identificar a importância dos elementos que compõem a capa de revista como partes significativas para a construção textual. Foi realizada uma aula integrada entre os componentes de Biologia e Língua Portuguesa, fazendo uso das interrelações entre a análise e a interpretação de capas de revistas, divulgação midiática dos impactos ambientais e a evolução do sistema visual dos animais. A fim de obter melhor compreensão dos conteúdos trabalhados em sala de aula.
