La cirugía de control de daños (CCD) es un recurso importante en pacientes inestables y potencialmente graves, actualmente esta estrategia quirúrgica es empleada también en determinados pacientes con patología quirúrgica urgente de origen séptico no traumático que condiciona una situación crítica de inestabilidad hemodinámica. La metodología utilizada para el presente trabajo de investigación, se enmarca dentro de una revisión bibliográfica de tipo documental. La técnica para la recolección de datos está constituida por materiales electrónicos, estos últimos como Google Académico, PubMed, Science direct, entre otros, apoyándose para ello en el uso de descriptores en ciencias de la salud o terminología MESH. La información aquí obtenida será revisada para su posterior análisis. El beneficio de este procedimiento radica en la realización de laparotomías en un solo acto quirúrgico en lo que respecta a pacientes politraumatizados, con el objetivo de restaurar y mantener las condiciones del paciente altamente traumatizado, con altas probabilidades de éxito y supervivencia, salvo que estos entren en la llamada triada de la muerte.
La presente obra es el resultado del esfuerzo académico de un grupo de profesionales de la salud, quienes han recopilado la información disponible con la evidencia científica más actualizada sobre temas que esperamos ayuden a los profesionales de la salud y a médicos en formación interesados en profundizar sus conocimientos sobre patologías frecuentes que pueden presentarse dentro de su ámbito profesional.
El lupus eritematoso cutáneo es una enfermedad autoinmune que puede presentarse con compromiso limitado a la piel o bien con manifestaciones sistémicas. Se caracteriza por tener un curso crónico y recidivante inducido o agravado por la luz solar. La metodología utilizada para el presente trabajo de investigación, se enmarca dentro de una revisión bibliográfica de tipo documental, ya que nos vamos a ocupar de temas planteados a nivel teórico como es Actualización en el manejo de lesiones cutáneas asociadas a lupus. La técnica para la recolección de datos está constituida por materiales electrónicos, estos últimos como Google Académico, PubMed, Science direct, entre otros, apoyándose para ello en el uso de descriptores en ciencias de la salud o terminología MESH. La información aquí obtenida será revisada para su posterior análisis. El lupus es una patología compleja, donde interviene múltiples factores para su desarrollo, de allí la importancia del conocimiento por parte de los profesionales de la salud de sus manifestaciones clínicas más comunes, su clasificación y complicaciones asociadas a diferentes órganos del cuerpo, su pronto diagnóstico le puede generar una mejor calidad de vida y sobrevida a los pacientes. Existen diferentes guías de clasificación de la enfermedad como Sociedad Americana de Reumatología (American College of Rheumatology) y Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics Group (SLICC), destacándose esta última por su mayor grado de sensibilidad a la hora del diagnóstico, el manejo de esta patología va a depender del grado de afectación o estadio que se presente, que pude ir desde un tratamiento no farmacológico con cremas para las lesiones cutáneos y/o protectores solares, así como tratamientos farmacológicos como antiinflamatorios no esteroideos (AINE), glucocorticoides, entre otros.
La Insuficiencia Renal Aguda (IRA) es un problema de salud mundial, por el aumento de sus índices de morbilidad, mortalidad, además de los costos que representa para el sistema de salud de cualquier región o país. El panorama mundial de esta patología describe que uno de cada cinco adultos y uno de cada tres niños desarrollará esta patología durante una hospitalización y se estima que el 29.6% de los pacientes hospitalizados la desarrollarán. El propósito fundamental de la presente revisión es plasmar las generalidades de la Insuficiencia Renal Aguda, con énfasis en su diagnóstico, tratamiento y pronóstico. La investigación se realizó bajo una metodología de tipo documental bibliográfica, bajo la modalidad de revisión. Cuando se sospecha esta enfermedad, debe realizarse un análisis de sangre y orina. Asimismo, suele ser necesario realizar una ecografía abdominal y, en algunas ocasiones, incluso una biopsia renal que permita determinar la causa. Además de la ecografía renal, en ocasiones son útiles otros estudios de por la imagen. El objetivo del tratamiento será enlentecer la progresión de la enfermedad. En este sentido, será necesario en primer lugar, tratar la enfermedad o lesión que está dañando a los riñones, posteriormente, cuando se encuentre el origen del daño bajo control, la atención se debe centrar en la prevención de la acumulación del exceso de líquidos y desechos en la sangre. En aquellos casos donde la insuficiencia renal aguda causa la pérdida permanente de la función renal, el paciente requerirá diálisis permanente o un trasplante de riñón para sobrevivir. En cuanto al pronóstico, suele ser favorable para pacientes cuya insuficiencia renal se deriva de la disminución del flujo sanguíneo por pérdida de líquidos corporales como consecuencia de hemorragia, vómito o diarrea. El pronóstico empeora en aquellos casos donde se encuentran fallas en otros órganos como el corazón, los pulmones o el hígado.
