Cosmarium sp is unicellular microalga which was grown in bold basal medium with the controlled condition and investigated biochemical characterizations for biodiesel production and evaluated standardization of ethanol production. Once microalgae were reaches the proper growth stage total lipid was analyzed and these lipids were used for the production of biodiesel by transesterification process using Calcium oxide (0.66%) as a catalyst. Bioethanol production was done by using the defatted residues of Cosmarium sp. with Saccharomyces cerevisiae (10%). In view of the above-mentioned facts, the present study has been designed to enhance the production of biodiesel and bioethanol.
able to adapt new environments through the de novo synthesis and recycling of fatty acids to maintain the membrane characteristics (Williams and Laurens, 2010). Biomass energy sources have three generations development steps; first generation biofuel feedstocks which were derived from the food crops, such as sugarcane, corn, soyabean and
The purpose of the study was to screen six identified microalga samples from in and around of the Western Ghats Karnataka state for their amylase and antioxidants activity assay. These six collected terrestrial microalgae were grown in plastic tray for multiplication purpose treated with R.O. residual dispense water, pH 8.4 (T1) and urban waste water (T2) which reduced the pH and TDS content in that water. Rhizoclonium hieroglyphicum has greater chlorophyll content, which helps in multiplication of microalgae very quickly. Carbohydrate degrading enzymes were analyzed using DNS reagents. Free radical scavenging activities were also determined using DPPH (2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method. Superoxide Dismutase and Peroxidase was the most important antioxidant enzymes that protect against the peroxidation system and maintain the redox state of the cell. Amylase, SOD and POD activities were confirmed by conducting native PAGE.
Forty five NRB type cultivars of banana which were grown in Mysore and Hassan conditions and were analysed for different biochemical parameters. NRB collection 66 and 22 showed highest content total phenolics in both the locations. Total flavonoid content found highest in NRB 13, NRB 54, at Hassan region while NRB 53 found more in Mysore region. Total antioxidant analysis depicted more at both the location NRB type. The present study also adds to the current knowledge of nutritive values, antioxidant potential and antioxidant enzymes viz; Esterase, Superoxide dismutase, aspects of banana.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
