Komunikasi transendental adalah bentuk komunikasi antara Tuhan dan manusia menggunakan media metafisik. Ini mendeskripsikan konsep dasar manusia sebagai mahluk sosial yang indentik dengan keterbatasannya dalam melangsungkan kehidupan, maka dari itu membangun komunikasi antara sesama manusia dan Tuhan atau komunikasi vertikal maupun horizontal adalah sesuatu yang harus dilakukan oleh setiap individu dan masyarakat sekaligus menggambarkan sikap manusia yang humanis. Pola interaksi antar manusia dengan Tuhan senantiasa membawah manusia atau individu merepresentasi menjadi manusia yang pari purna. Salah satu bentuk praktik komunikasi transendental adalah dapat dijumpai ketika orang-orang melakukan ibadah atau ritual tertentu. Dalam praktek masyarakat Islam komunikasi transendental selain dari ibadah sholat, perilaku masyarakat yang mendatangi makam-makam para leluhur juga berupa membaca doa atau bertawassul lainnya itu juga merupakan bentuk dari praktik komunikasi transendental. Tesis ini merupakan hasil penelitian dilapangan dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografis, proses pengumpulan data dimulai dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Proses analisis data dimulai dengan pengumpulan data, display data lalu verivikasi. Tesis ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemaknaan para pendukung ziarah makam Rea tersebut sebagai makam wali Allah, makam memiliki karomah, makam leluhur, dan pada pola komunikasi transendental terlihat pada aktivitas tawassul dan tabarruk.
