153Reindarstellung von 4-Methylpyridin: Das durch Umkristallisieren mit Aceton gereinigte 4-Methylpyridin-N-oxyd zeigt einen Schmp. von 186-186.5" und wird der S. 152 beschriebenen Hydrierung unterworfen.Reindarsfellung von 3-Methytpyridin: Die bei der Destillation der N-Oxyde anfallende Fraktion 2 von 146-148" wird hydriert und das 3-Methylpyridin nach D.JERCHEL und E. BAUERI~) durch Oxydation mit SeOz gereinigt. Reindarstellung von 2.6-Dimethylpyridin: In die Losung von j 0 g 2.6-Dimethylpyridin-N-oxyd in 500ccm Aceton leitet man unter Riihren iiber die Sattigung hinaus Chlorwasserstoff ein. Das ausgefallene N-Oxyd-hydrochlorid wird abfiltriert und aus Methanol umkristallisiert. Zur Riickgewinnung des N-Oxydes lost man in wenig Wasser und macht mit wasserfreiem NazCO3 alkalisch. Es bilden sich zwei Schichten, von denen die obere mehrrnals rnit Chloroform extrahiert wird. Die vereinigten Extrakte werden iiber NazS04 getrocknet und destilliert. Aus dem so gereinigten 2.6-Dimethylpyridin-N-oxyd (47.3 g) laRt sich die freie Base durch Reduktion mit Eisenpulver in Eisessig nach H.J. DEN HERTocI~) gewinnen. 2.6-Dimethylpyridin-N-oxyd ist fliissig, bildet aber an der Luft ein Monohydrat vom Schrnp. 34-35".
