The process of digitalisation of the economy and social sphere that has occurred in the last decades is beyond the wildest expectations put forward by the technological pioneers. Information technologies and new possibilities of electronic communication have totally changed business, economic and social relations, as well as labour market, industries and professions. Technologies as social innovations change the way of work, forms of education and development, adherence to social networks or consumption patterns. The article also tries to prove that social innovations are not only digital technologies, but also the search for new social ideas and values, including solutions in the scope of social economy, sharing economy, a new model of welfare state. Moreover, some new social issues are revealed, together with new forms of social risk related to the development of technology and digi-talisation, which will have to be solved in the future.
In 2016, the Polish government considered necessary to undertake public actions aimed at influencing the structure of population and the course of demographic processes. At the same time, public policieshave been established to respond to the expectations of citizens resulting from the new population structure and societalchanges. This article describes the Polish Family 500+ programafter 2 years of its implementation. The Family 500+ program is not only a legislative means to increase the birth rate, but also representsa new paradigm in social policy, which would ensure ahigh level of social capital to future generations.
In a relatively short time, information and communication technology (ICT) has spread worldwide, from defense to space to large industrial applications, and to the commercial, healthcare, entertainment, and educational sectors. As a consequence, experts argue that it is urgent and critical to prepare educational programs in order to re-train the current workforce. However, there are some key questions that are very relevant, since they concern crucial and challenging issues: 1) Which jobs have a future in the digital era? 2) How can education support the acquisition of new skills required by the new jobs?This article focuses on the above questions, and presents the main opportunities that the digital revolution offers for sustaining education for future jobs in a lifelong perspective.

Kompetencje pracowników sektora usług społecznych muszą być dostosowane do współczesnych wyzwań demograficznych i społecznych. Prowadzone analizy wskazują, jakich kompetencji brakuje w dzisiejszym systemie pomocy społecznej oraz jakie trzeba rozwijać.
