KurzfassungAufgrund der Leichtbauanforderungen gewinnt bei der Auslegung von Fahrwerks- und Karosseriestrukturen das Überlastverhalten von Fahrzeugen zunehmend an Bedeutung. Eine rein hardware-basierende Absicherung des Gesamtfahrzeugverhaltens ermöglicht jedoch keine konzeptionelle und zielgerichtete Berücksichtigung des Überlastverhaltens bei der Komponenten- und Systemauslegung. Es wird gezeigt, wie bei BMW mit Hilfe der Missbrauchsimulation grundlegende Aussagen über das Überlastverhalten von Gesamtfahrzeugen bereits in der frühen Phase des Produktentstehungsprozesses erzielt werden können. Weiterhin wird es damit möglich, sehr früh auf Basis virtueller Daten das Verhalten des Fahrzeugs bei Überlastszenarien hinsichtlich der auftretenden Schadenskette zu bewerten und somit das Risiko bei den weiterhin notwendigen, abschließenden Hardwareversuchen zu minimieren.
