The solubilities and diffusion coefficients of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide gases in the ionic liquid (IL) 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([hemim][BF 4 ]), at temperatures ranging from (303.15 to 353.15) K and pressures up to 1.1 MPa, were determined. The solubility data were correlated using the Krichevsky-Kasarnovsky equation, and Henry's law constants at different temperatures were obtained. From the solubility data, the partial molar thermodynamic functions of solution such as Gibbs energy, enthalpy, and entropy were calculated. The diffusion coefficients were obtained for H 2 S and CO 2 using a semi-infinite volume approach, and a correlation equation with temperature is presented for each gas. A comparison showed that the solubility of H 2 S was about three times its magnitude, and its diffusion coefficient is of the same order of magnitude as that of CO 2 in the IL studied in this work.
In this work SBA-15, a melamine-based functionalized SBA-15 mesoporous silica with a dicationic ionic liquid was used in order to improve the physicochemical properties of phosphoric acid doped polybenzimidazole membranes for application in HT-PEMFCs.
A simple and rapid vortex assisted ionic liquid based liquid–liquid microextraction technique (VALLME) was proposed for preconcentration of trace levels of cadmium. According to this method, the extraction solvent was dispersed into the aqueous samples by the assistance of vortex agitator. Cadmium preconcentration was mediated by chelation with the 8-hydroxyquinoline (oxine) reagent and an IL, 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([Omim][PF6]) was chosen as the extraction solvent to extract the hydrophobic complex. Several variables such as sample pH, concentration of oxine, volume of [Omim][PF6] and extraction time were investigated in details and optimum conditions were selected. Under the optimum conditions, the limit of detection (LOD) was 2.9 μg L−1 for Cd (ІІ) and relative standard deviation (RSD%) for five replicate determinations of 125 μg L−1 was 4.1%. The method was successfully applied to the determination of cadmium in tap water, apple and rice samples.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
