Perfil clínico-epidemiológico de pacientes com Síndrome do Desconforto Respiratório Agudo em UTI pediátrica Clinical and epidemiological profile of patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome in pediatric ICU RESUMO O comprometimento do sistema respiratório é uma predominante causa do atendimento hospitalar pediátrico, sendo a Síndrome do Desconforto Respiratório Agudo (SDRA) a manifestação mais grave desse comprometimento. Foi realizado um estudo transversal, quantitativo e retrospectivo, em um hospital pediátrico referência na Paraíba, objetivando caracterizar o perfil clínico e epidemiológico de crianças com SDRA e investigar sua prevalência. Os dados, coletados em prontuários e livros de ocorrências, foram analisados por meio de estatística descritiva e inferencial bivariada, utilizando o software R. Entre 2014 a 2017 foram admitidos 1556 pacientes, 22,7% necessitaram de VMI e 26 crianças foram diagnosticadas com SDRA, sendo incluídas 21 destas na amostra final. O grupo do sexo masculino permaneceu em média 63,91 (±15,28) dias em VMI, enquanto o feminino 10,82 dias (±10,25). A patologia de base mais frequente foi a pulmonar, predominando a pneumonia (52,38%). O tempo mediano de internação hospitalar do sexo masculino foi de 60 dias e do feminino 12 dias, com diferença significativa (p = 0,004). No desfecho clínico, 91% foram a óbito. Observa-se neste estudo, que diferente da incidência que está abaixo do encontrado na literatura, o índice de mortalidade está muito acima do encontrado em outros centros.
Objetivo: apontar os aspectos do Burnout em profissionais de Terapia Intensiva durante a pandemia por COVID-19. Metodologia: trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, elaborada conforme instruções do Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). A seleção e amostra deu-se por meio das bases de dados Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e à Biblioteca Nacional em Medicina (PubMed) e foram utilizados para a busca os seguintes descritores: “burnout”, “intensive care” e “COVID 19. Resultados e Discussão: 7 estudos compuseram esse artigo e seus achados mostram a elevada prevalência de Burnout em todas as suas dimensões com alto risco em profissionais de Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) comparados aos que não trabalham nesse setor, a situação preocupante para o bem-estar dos profissionais empregados nas UTIs com consequente barreira assistencial aos pacientes e até mesmo o desejo forte desses profissionais em deixar a área de saúde. Considerações Finais: A sobrecarga e esgotamento diante de uma pandemia nunca vivenciada veio atrelada à mudança repentina no trabalho de muitos profissionais de saúde e observou-se a necessidade de uma maior atenção a esses profissionais, incluindo prevenção e planejamento de medidas que possam minimizar ou eliminar o aparecimento do Burnout em trabalhadores de Terapia Intensiva.
