Manual software testing has been traditionally used in the software industry. It depends completely on human testers without the help of any tool to detect the unexpected behavior of an application. However, the main problem in the manual testing approach is that it is a time-consuming task in addition to the fact that tests cannot be reused. Automation software testing has been introduced to reduce testing efforts and detect as many faults as possible. Test cases are executed not only to test the functional requirements for the first time, but also to check the functions which have been already tested. This study aims to present the main features of different automation testing frameworks. In addition, an overview of different scripting techniques is presented during the study.
Abstract-Software testing is the process of evaluating the developed system to assess the quality of the final product. Unfortunately, software-testing process is expensive and consumes a lot of time through software development life cycle. As software systems grow, manual software testing becomes more and more difficult. Therefore, there was always a need to decrease the testing time. Recently, automation is as a major factor in reducing the testing effort by many researchers. Therefore, automating software-testing process is vital to its success. This study aims to compare the main features of different scripting techniques used in process of automating the execution phase in software testing process. In addition, an overview of different scripting techniques will be presented to show the state of art of this study.

Unfortunately, software testing process is expensive and consumes a lot of time through software development life cycle. So, there was always a need to decrease the testing time through automating tests. This paved the way to "Automated Software Testing". Using automation, the high testing effort can be dramatically reduced and the overall costs related with it can be decreased as well. This leads to a more need to invent new efficient automated scripting techniques to ensure high quality systems. This study aims to provide a new scripting technique that facilitates the process of automating the execution phase through software testing in an industrial context.
