CBCT is a reliable tool for implant-planning measurements when compared with MSCT. In this study, a considerable radiation dose reduction could be achieved with low-dose MSCT examinations without a major loss of measurement accuracy.
CBCT scanners provide adequate image quality for dentomaxillofacial examinations while delivering considerably smaller effective doses to the patient. Large variations in patient dose and image quality emphasize the importance of optimizing imaging parameters in both CBCT and MSCT examinations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
