In Brazil and worldwide, commercialization of soybeans is of great importance to the economy, making their quality considered. The presence of damaged soybean seeds decreases the added value of the product. Businesses need fast and effective techniques to maintain the quality. The present research aimed to identify, through image processing, damage caused to soybean seeds, namely the presence of greenish seeds and wrinkled seeds due to variations of humidity and temperature, where it was possible to identify greenish and wrinkled soybean seeds from images. Results obtained for greenish seeds indicated that the red color scale is the most suitable for selection due to its more significant variation compared to the other color scales. For the separation of wrinkled seeds, it can be stated that it is possible to find a selection parameter with 74.3% accuracy in removing seeds with medium to high degrees of wrinkle damage.
This study applied spectroradiometry techniques with hyperspectral data to identify the correlations between sugarcane leaf reflectance and the contents of Nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Sulfur (S), Calcium (Ca) and Magnesium (Mg). During the harvests 2019/20 and 2020/21, sugarcane was introduced to nutritional stress by the application of limestone doses. Liming was applied in a fractional way and, at the end of five years, the amounts corresponded to 0, 9, 15 and 21 t ha-1 of dolomitic limestone. The leaf hyperspectral reflectance data and the state of nutrients in the exponential growth phase of the culture were registered. The wavelengths correlated with N, P, K, S, Ca and Mg were identified using the Spearman’s correlation analysis. The test of similarity (ANOSIM) and the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) were applied to evaluate data variability, as well as the Partial Least Squares Regression (PLSR) for the prediction of the nutritional contents. The order of the degree of correlation in the region of visible was: P > K > N > Ca > S > Mg and for the region of the near infrared: P > K > Ca > N > S > Mg. P presented peaks with high correlations in the wavelengths 706-717 nm (-0.78) and 522-543 nm (-0.76). The values of the PLSR registered the best spectral responses in the region of VIS and red-edge, regions that are more sensitive to the deficiency of sulfur, potassium and phosphorus.

REFERENCE EVAPOTRANSPIRATION BY THE PENMAN-MONTEITH’S METHOD IN YEARS OF ENSO FOR THE MICROREGION OF PELOTAS-RS. 2 ABSTRACT The Micro-zone of Pelotas, located in the southeast of 'Rio Grande do Sul' is one of the major producers of irrigated rice in Brazil. Rice production in the region is performed through the flood irrigation system. One of the factors that influence the depth of water into the system is evapotranspiration, which is directly related to elements and climatic phenomena. The El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is one of the main climatic phenomena in the region. The study aimed to assess whether the reference evapotranspiration (ET0) is affected by the ENSO's periods in the Microregion of Pelotas-RS. For such, forty years of daily climatic data were used to estimate ET0 by applying Penman-Monteith's method parameterized by FAO, then the results were confronted to NOAA's classification for the ENSO's phenomenon. The results showed that the region has an evapotranspiration average of 4.82 mm day-1 and for El Niño's periods 4.71 mm day-1, La Niña's 4.89 mm day-1 and Neutral of 4.87 mm day-1. From the variance analysis and the test of average comparison LSD by Fisher, it was noted that ENOS has significant influence on the region's ET0 in November and December. The Federal University of Pelotas Interdisciplinary internship experience project, in settlements in the Southern region of Rio Grande do Sul, comes with the proposal to bring the rural reality to the students and in this way can see the real problems within these settlements, exercising their academic knowledge on the needs of farmers. The general objectives of the internship project are to provide the integration of students in different conditions, to stimulate students to promote actions that improve the lives of the families involved and thus influence social transformations. The present study was carried out in the "Abrindo Fronteiras" settlement located in Hulha NegraCounty, where surveys and data interpretation were performed to obtain a socio-economic and environmental diagnosis of the settlement, and validated in the field through questioning. In short, it was concluded that the internship is an exchange, aiming to improve the lives of the farmers, but also to provide a more complete training to the students, training professionals who are experienced, qualified, and concerned with the rural community.
