This research was aimed at profiling student's thinking skills in dealing with Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions based on Marzano taxonomy by referring to 13 indicators. This pre-experimental research employed pretest-posttest design. The indicators included were comparison, classification, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, error analysis, construction, analysis perspective, abstraction, decision making, investigation, problem solving, inquiry experiment, and innovation finding. The instrument used was a 13-essay questions (r-Pearson= 0.79 and Cronbach alpha = 0.68). The research results conducted to 98 students of Natural Science Education which was analyzed using paired t-test showed the significant different between pre-test and posttest (sig. <0.01). As many as four HOTS indicators (i.e. deductive reasoning, error analysis, construction, and abstraction) were categorized as low level. Meanwhile, the eighth HOTS indicators were categorized as moderate level, namely: comparison, inductive reasoning, analysis perspective, decision making, investigation, solving problem, inquiry experiment, and innovative finding. In addition, the classification indicator was considered to fulfill the high level in the end of the course. Higher order thinking skills profile is crucial to be observed, along with students' cognitive development, from the beginning of course, which then can be used as a basic information in designing learning approach which is HOTS-oriented for the next course.
The purpose of this research was to produce an integrated science package based on inquiry on human blood circulation theme to improve the creativity of the 8th graders of junior high school. The research used ADDIE (2009) developing model. The result of product development was integrated science package for students and teacher’s guideline. Based on the result of feasibility test, 92.53 percent for its content feasibility and 88.96 percent for its presentation feasibility which meant very feasible, it was predicted that the product feasibility in improving students creativity was 85.00 percent which meant very feasible. Feasibility test of teacher’s guideline the percentage of content and presentation feasibility was 88.96 percent which meant very feasible. On the readable test, it was obtained 89.94 percent which meant very feasible. Based on those result, science package must be tested wildely for feasibility. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan produk Paket IPA Terpadu berbasis inkuiri tema peredaran darah manusia untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa kelas VIII SMP/MTs. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang dilakukan dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (2009). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Paket IPA Terpadu untuk siswa dan Panduan Guru. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa uji kelayakan isi dan kelayakan penyajian Paket IPA Terpadu memperoleh persentase sebesar 92,53 persen dan 88,96 persen dengan kriteria sangat layak, prediksi kemampuan Paket IPA Terpadu untuk meningkatkan kreativitas memperoleh persentase sebesar 85,00 persen dengan kriteria sangat layak. Uji kelayakan Panduan Guru memperoleh persentase sebesar 88,96 persen. Berdasarkan uji keterbacaan terbatas yang dilakukan, rata-rata nilai persentase yang diperoleh adalah 84,94 persen. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, agar Paket IPA Terpadu layak digunakan perlu diadakan uji coba lapangan secara luas.
The aim of this research was to develop interactive learning multimedia in living organization system material on educational game. The validation test included media validation and material validation. The media validation was carried out by media expert, included of one physics lecturer and one natural science teacher, whereas the material validation was carried out by material expert, included of one biology lecturer. The legibility test in small group was carried out to 15 students grade VIII who had learned living organization system material. Based on the evaluation result, the developed interactive learning multimedia has proven valid and fulfilled very worthy criteria to be used. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan multimedia pembelajaran interaktif pada materi sistem organisasi kehidupan berbasis game edukasi. Uji kelayakan dilakukan melalui validasi media, materi, dan uji keterbacaan. Validasi media oleh satu dosen Fisika dan satu guru IPA SMP, validasi materi oleh satu dosen biologi, dan uji keterbacaan pada 15 siswa kelas VIII SMP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa multimedia yang dikembangkan sangat valid dan sangat layak untuk digunakan.
