Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa de mestrado, desenvolvida no MDU/ UFPE, que avalia a interferência das edificações e da forma urbana na ventilação natural. O trabalho apresentado neste artigo analisa dois modelos de possível ocupação litorânea mantendo-se a mesma área de implantação e densidade construtiva semelhante. Os modelos diferenciam-se nos parâmetros de altura e porosidade dos edificios. Em um dos modelos analisados, são propostas três regras à legislação urbanística: obrigatoriedade de incluir um pavimento vazado entre os primeiros cinco pisos; necessidade de incluir um pavimento vazado por cada 10 pavimentos; e compensação dos pavimentos retirados com o aumento da altura do edifício. Trata-se, portanto, de uma experimentação prática que pretendeu expandir os conhecimentos sobre o conforto urbano. Para tal, foi utilizado o programa PHOENICS VR 3.6.1 (CHAM, 2005), ferramenta de simulação baseada na dinâmica de fluidos computacional (CFD), no Laboratório de Conforto da UFAL, considerando a presença dos ventos dominantes Sudeste e Sul, incidindo respectivamente a 65° e 110° em relação às fachadas dos edifícios estudados. A análise destes modelos foi efetuada de duas formas distintas. A 1,5m de distância do solo, para compreender os efeitos aerodinâmicos e o conforto ao nível do pedestre, e a diversas alturas (10m; 20m; 50m e a 70m de distância do solo), para compreender as modificações que ocorrem na velocidade inicial de vento ao longo do gradiente vertical. Por fim, concluiu-se que o modelo com edifícios mais altos e porosos é aquele que proporciona maior conforto, propondo-se, então, o aprofundamento deste estudo, para que no futuro possam ser elaboradas novas medidas na legislação urbana.
O sombreamento e a ventilação natural se constituem nas estratégias bioclimáticas mais relevantes no que se refere à adaptação das edificações às características do clima quente e úmido. No contexto da maioria das cidades brasileiras, entretanto, os códigos de edificações consideram alguns cômodos de permanência transitória como adequadamente ventilados através de poços horizontais e/ou verticais. Na realidade, vários destes ambientes têm se mostrado inadequadamente ventilados, apresentando reduzidas taxas de renovação de ar e favorecendo o aparecimento de bolor. O objetivo deste trabalho é avaliar a utilização de dutos verticais e horizontais, para incrementar a ventilação natural de habitações de interesse social. A metodologia utilizada baseia-se em análise comparativa do desempenho de modelos computacionais de apartamentos com determinados ambientes abertos para dutos com diferentes configurações, visando analisar a influência da posição (vertical e horizontal), dimensão da seção do duto, aberturas de entrada e saída dos dutos e ângulo de incidência do vento, que resultaram em cinco modelos. O estudo foi realizado utilizando-se o programa baseado na dinâmica de fluidos computacional (CFD), PHOENICS VR 3.6.1 (CHAM, 2005). Os resultados mostram que a ventilação natural através de dutos pode ser eficaz, desde que devidamente projetada. A orientação das unidades habitacionais em relação aos ventos dominantes tem grande influência na circulação do vento no interior dos ambientes. Além disso, é indispensável a existência de aberturas de entrada e saída devidamente posicionadas, mesmo nos apartamentos bem orientados em relação aos ventos dominantes. As ferramentas de simulação computacionais permitem a visualização prévia e ajuste das estratégias mais adequadas para cada projeto, podendo ser usadas para refinar as recomendações dos atuais códigos de edificações existentes no Brasil, no que se refere à ventilação por meio de dutos.
Para o melhor aproveitamento do recurso da ventilação natural, ao projetar um edifício é preciso orientálo de maneira adequada em relação aos ventos dominantes do local em que a edificação será implantada. No entanto, em fevereiro de 2011, foi apresentado pelo Ministério da Educação-MEC, um projeto de arquitetura padrão para escolas técnicas do programa Brasil Profissionalizado, visando sua implantação em todo o Brasil. O objetivo principal do presente trabalho é analisar o comportamento da ventilação natural externa nesse projeto padrão de escola técnica do MEC, avaliando-se a distribuição de pressões nas fachadas dos diversos blocos que compõem a escola, considerando oito ângulos de incidência do vento. O estudo foi realizado por meio de simulações no programa de Mecânica Computacional dos Fluidos (CHAM, 2005). Foram simulados oito modelos, considerando o edifício submetido a oito incidências de vento distintas. Os resultados mostram diferenças significativas da distribuição das pressões nas superfícies externas à edificação, dependendo do ângulo de incidência do vento. Das oito incidências analisadas, as incidências a 45° apresentam maior diferença de pressão entre fachadas opostas do edifício. Com incidência de 90°, nos ambientes com fachadas paralelas à direção do vento, a movimentação do ar interno foi praticamente nula. A ventilação natural é uma das estratégias bioclimáticas que podem ser controladas por meio de decisões projetuais simples, como a localização adequada das aberturas, favorecendo o conforto térmico e a redução do consumo de energia elétrica em edifícios escolares. O uso de simulação computacional torna-se uma ferramenta auxiliar na arquitetura, permitindo a análise prévia de fatores que podem interferir na qualidade dos projetos.
