Bu araştırmada 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında gerçekleşen Covid-19 pandemi dönemi başlangıcında 1. sınıfta olan öğrencilerin bu süreçlerinin ve 2. sınıfa hazırbulunuşluklarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Nitel araştırma yaklaşımı benimsenmiş araştırmanın modeli durum çalışmasıdır. Ölçüt örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen sınıf öğretmenlerinden ve velilerden gönüllülük esasına dayalı olarak görüş alınmıştır. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını Kayseri il merkezinde 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılında ikinci sınıflarda görevli, geçen dönem de aynı sınıfla eğitim yapmış sınıf öğretmenleri ve bu öğretmenlerin velileri oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Toplanan veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öğretmenlerin Covid-19 pandemi sürecinde uzaktan eğitime geçildiğinde ödevlendirmeden ve öğretmen-veli iş birliğinden yararlanmaya çalıştıkları belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenlere göre yazma becerisinin kazandırılmasında ve öğrencilerin sosyal gelişimlerinde uzaktan eğitimin yetersiz olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin yüz yüze ve uzaktan eğitimin birlikte sürdürülmesi şeklinde çözüm önerisi sundukları görülmüştür. Velilerin Covid-19 pandemi sürecinde uzaktan eğitime geçildiğinde EBA’dan ve veli-öğretmen iş birliğinden yararlanmaya çalıştıkları görülürken, uzaktan eğitime yönelik önerileri pandemi sürecinde uzaktan eğitimin devam etmesi ancak uzaktan eğitim içeriğinin zenginleştirilmesi şeklindedir. Pandemi sürecinde eğitimin daha sağlıklı yürütülmesi için öğretmenlere, öğrencilere ve velilere bu konuda psikolojik destek verilebileceği, öğretmenlere uzaktan eğitim, teknolojiler ve yapılabilecek etkinlikler konusunda hizmet içi eğitimler verilebileceği, teknolojik alt yapı ve donanım sağlanabileceği önerilerinde bulunulmuştur.
