Rostock. The products were analyzed on a Hewlett Packard gas chromatograph 5890Series II equipped with a flame ionization detector and Hewlett Packard 3390A integrator. The dimensions of the capillary column HP-5 (stationary phase crosslinked 5% PH ME silicone) were the following: the column length, inside diameter, and film thickness were 25 m, 0.32 mm and 0.25 µm, respectively. The flow rate of a carrier gas (nitrogen) was 12.1 cm 3 •s -1 . The starting point for the GC temperature program was T/K 323 K with a heating rate of 0.167 K•s -1 up until reaching T/K = 523 K.
St.Louis. An HP 5890 gas chromatograph interfaced to a computer running HP Chemstation was used to measure the retention times of all analytes. Helium was the carrier gas and the column used was a 0.32 mm ID, 30 m DB5 column. Experimental retention times are provided below. Isothermal chromatograms of both the target and reference compounds were obtained over a T/K = 30 temperature range at intervals of T/K = 5. The solvents used were not retained on the column at the temperatures of the experiments.Vapour pressure measurements of alkaneamines. Vapour pressures of alkaneamines were determined using the method of transpiration [11, 12] in a saturated nitrogen stream. About 0.5 g of the sample was mixed with glass beads and placed in a thermostatted Ushaped tube having a length of 20 cm and a diameter of 0.5 cm. Glass beads with a diameter of the glass spheres of 1 mm, wash with 0.1M NaOH and dried, provided surface area large enough for rapid vapour-liquid equilibration. At constant temperature
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
