Neutron Diffraction and Observation of Superconductivity for Tungsten Borides, WB and W2B4. -The title compounds are investigated by neutron diffraction and magnetic measurements. WB becomes superconducting at 4.3 K in the tetragonal modification (space group I4/amd) and at 2.8 K in the orthorhombic modification (space group Cmcm). W2B4 (formerly known as W2B5) also shows a superconducting transition at 5.4 K, which is suppressed for small grain samples. -(KAYHAN, M.; HILDEBRANDT, E.; FROTSCHER, M.; SENYSHYN, A.; HOFMANN, K.; ALFF, L.; ALBERT*, B.; Solid State Sci.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
