As the role of information and communication technologies gradually increases in our lives, software security becomes a major issue to provide protection against malicious attempts and to avoid ending up with noncompensable damages to the system. With the advent of data-driven techniques, there is now a growing interest in how to leverage machine learning (ML) as a software assurance method to build trustworthy software systems. In this study, we examine how to predict software vulnerabilities from source code by employing ML prior to their release. To this end, we develop a source code representation method that enables us to perform intelligent analysis on the Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) form of source code and then investigate whether ML can distinguish vulnerable and nonvulnerable code fragments. To make a comprehensive performance evaluation, we use a public dataset that contains a large amount of function-level real source code parts mined from open-source projects and carefully labeled according to the type of vulnerability if they have any. We show the effectiveness of our proposed method for vulnerability prediction from source code by carrying out exhaustive and realistic experiments under different regimes in comparison with state-of-art methods.

Free radicals have been implicated in some psychiatric disorders. This study aimed to investigate the role of oxidative and antioxidative parameters in etiopathogenesis and prognosis of panic disorder (PD), using novel methods for measurement of total oxidant and antioxidant statuses. Nineteen PD patients and 40 healthy subjects were recruited. Both total antioxidant status and oxidative stress index, and ceruloplasmin levels of PD patients were significantly higher in PD patients. Total oxidant status and oxidative stress index decreased after treatment. This study suggests an oxidative imbalance in PD and treatment can reverse overall oxidative imbalance.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının Teknopedagojik İçerik Bilgisi'ne (TPİB) odaklanan bir deneysel uygulama öncesi ve sonrasındaki TPİB yeterliklerinin BİT kullanım düzeyi, BİT kullanım aşamaları ve cinsiyet değişkenleri açısından incelenmesidir. Araştırmada deneme modellerinden öntest-sontest kontrol grupsuz yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Çalışma 2011-2012 öğretim yılında bir devlet üniversitesinin eğitim fakültesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 61 öğretmen adayı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaca uygun olarak TPACK-deep Ölçeği ile BİT Kullanım Aşamaları ve BİT Kullanım Düzeyleri anketleri veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi sonucunda TPİB yeterliklerine odaklanan deneysel uygulamanın etkili olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Deneysel uygulamanın sonrasında orta düzeyde olan TPİB yeterliklerinin ileri düzeye yükseldiği görülmüştür. Buna ek olarak TPACK-deep Ölçeği alt boyutları olan tasarım, uygulama, etik ve uzmanlaşma alanlarının her birinde ilerleme görülmüştür. Öğretmen adaylarının uygulama sonunda BİT kullanım aşamalarının olumlu yönde değişim gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, öğretmen adaylarının BİT kullanım düzeyi arttıkça TPİB yeterliklerinin de yükseldiği belirtilmiştir. TPİB yeterlikleri ile cinsiyet arasında ise anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. BİT kullanım aşamaları ile TPİB yeterlikleri alt alanları arasındaki ilişki incelendiğinde ise orta düzeyde bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. This prospective, open-label study provides preliminary evidence regarding the efficacy, safety and tolerability of mirtazapine treatment in cancer patients with depression. Relatively low doses of mirtazapine appeared to be safe and effective for treating cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy, and the reduction in the severity of depressive symptoms was maintained until the end of the 24-week treatment period.

Medical education development is a continuous process. Anatomy is the basis of medicine and needs to conform to the requirements of the era by applying new teaching methods and contributing to the development of scientists who can meet global standards. New visual materials and three-dimensional anatomy models are increasingly being used in anatomy training. The contribution of these methods to anatomy training will be substantial. However, it is obvious that the new educational methods will be more effective when used with cadavers, a classic and fundamental part of anatomy training. In this review, presenting the results of the various studies conducted on anatomy education, we aim to contribute to further studies on anatomy education and its curriculum in Turkey.
