This study seeks to characterize the profile of entrepreneurs and core business employees from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Surakarta. The characteristics examined in this study are the need for achievement, locus of control, tolerance for ambiguity, creativity/innovation, self-confidence, propensity to risk, and a sense of selfsufficiency/freedom. This study also attempt to determine the distinguishing characteristics between entrepreneurs and core business employees. Forty core business employees and thirty-six entrepreneurs were selected using purposive sampling method and questionnaires as the research instruments. Data testing was performed using descriptive statistical analysis methods and independent sample t-test to examine the differences in the characters reflected in the sample studied. The test results indicate that there are significant differences between entrepreneur and core business employees in their character, including the need for achievement, ambiguity tolerance, creativity/innovation, propensity to risk, and a sense of self-sufficiency/freedom. However, there is no significant difference in the character of selfconfidence and locus of control. In addition, descriptive statistical tests show that entrepreneurs have a higher mean score on all aspects of the characteristics than core business employees.
AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana pengaruh motivasi anggota kelompok wanita tani terhadap kinerja kelompok wanita tani di Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Metode dasar penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis pengaruh regresi linier berganda. Kinerja kelompok wanita tani dipengaruhi oleh faktor motivasi anggota kelompok wanita. Motivasi anggota kelompok wanita tani di Kabupaten Sukoharjo diperlukan untuk mendorong anggota melakukan sesuatu demi memenuhi kebutuhannya. Upaya memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut anggota harus dapat mencapai tujuan, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kinerja kelompok. Apabila motivasi anggota kelompok wanita tani tinggi, anggota akan melakukan sesuatu sehingga nantinya akan membentuk sikap positif terhadap kinerja kelompok wanita tani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi anggota kelompok wanita tani di Kabupaten Sukoharjo dikategorikan tinggi dalam memenuhi kebutuhan akan eksistensi (existence), relasi (releatdnes) dan pertumbuhan (growth). Berdasarkan uji pengaruh yang dilakukan, terdapat pengaruh secara signifikan antara motivasi anggota kelompok wanita tani terhadap kinerja kelompok wanita tani, dengan tingkat signifikansi 95% (α = 0,05).
