Ecological Aspects of Sternechus subsignatus Boheman (Coleoptera:Curculionidae) in Soybean under No-Tillage ABSTRACT -Field studies were carried out in the county of Cruz Alta, Rio Grande do Sul State, with Sternechus subsignatus Boheman, and indicated that hibernating larvae distributed vertically at different depths below the soil level, and were found at the depth of 25 cm and more commonly between 5 and 10 cm. The horizontal distribution of hibernating larvae occurred at 10 cm distance far from the soybean (Glycine max) plant rows. The emergence period of adults from the soil occurred during November -December. During the emergence period, adult dispersion from the edges to the center of the soybean area surrounded by corn (Zea mays) was not pronounced, the maximum distance being 23 m.
