This research aims at finding out the efficacy of using short video in teaching speaking to Indonesian English as Foreign Language (EFL) students. The main question of this research: Is the use of short video through group work effective in teaching speaking to Indonesian EFL students? The significances of the research are (1) this study can be an addition in the persisting teaching speaking by using short video. (2) this study will also be helpful to curricular designers to integrate ICT for teaching and learning speaking to Indonesian EFL students. This research was conducted at the eleventh grade of Senior High School number 4 Luwu regency, South Sulawesi Province, an Indonesian High School. The total number of samples was 25 students. The research used a pre-experimental method with pre-test and post-test design. The pre-test was given to find out the basic ability of the students in speaking and the post-test given to find out the students' improvement in speaking after giving the treatment by using of short video through a group work. The findings shows that using short video through group work is effective in teaching speaking to Indonesian EFL students. It is supported by the result of significance test through SPSS 20 program that the P was 0.00. Therefore, it is recommended to use short video through group work in developing speaking skill of Indonesian EFL students.
This research aims at finding out the types of errors committed by the students in making wh questions. The researcher applies descriptive research. It is used to describe the errors of the students. in making wh-questions. The population of this research is the second year students of SMP Negeri 2 Bua Ponrang. The total number of population in this research is 240 students. The researcher uses purposive sampling technique in determining class VIII A. Therefore, the total number of sample in this research is 28 students. Based on the result of data analysis, the researcher concludes the types of error that the second year students at SMP Negeri 2 Bua Ponrang committed in making wh-questions are omission, simple addition, archi-form, alternating form, misordering, and miselection. The omission is dominant errors that the students made because from 1017 of total errors, 475 or 46.7% of the total errors are omission. Then, it followed by archi-form with the total errors is 275 or 28%, 155 errors of simple addition or 15.2%, 93 errors of misordering or 9.1%, 11 errors of alternating form or 1.1%, and the least types of errors is miselection with 8 errors or 0.8%.
A research has been conducted to develop a physic learning media in form of android-based pocket book. We designed Harmonic Oscillation pocket book and test its feasibility and effectiveness in improving cognitive learning outcomes of students. This study using research and development method adapted from ADDIE model. The results revealed that this software has been successfully developed and is very feasible to be used as a physics learning media. This Android-based Harmonic Oscillation pocket book is effective in enhancing students cognitive learning outcomes and students showed positive tendency response toward the software.

This research is aimed to determine and to describe the errors in using simple present tenses in writing descriptive texts made by students, especially in the class D of sixth semester of English Education Department at IAIN Palopo. The data were obtained by conducting a test and using a checklist. Then, the writing products were analyzed using Surface Strategy Taxonomy by Dulay (1982). The result of this research was presented descriptively. From the result, the omission errors were found as the highest of occurrence, which was about 47,05% which revealed that in the class D of sixth semester in English Education Department at IAIN Palopo, still made errors in using simple present tense in writing descriptive text. The errors that are mostly made by students were errors of omission. It is in line with Dulay (1982) which stated that errors of omission are found in greater abundance during the early stages of second language acquisition.
This article describes the concept of learning style and the learners’ characteristic of each learning style of students in language learning. In the first part of this article the writer describes the learning style. Then the writer will related the learning style to language acquisition. There are 3 types of language learning style described by Tekavcic and Dimovski namely visual, auditory and tactile funtions of someone in processing information. The three main types of learning style are not absolute, of course. Many learners learn through a variety of senses. Certain students might equally be strong in the three perceptual modalities, or in two perceptual modalities of either combination
This study aims to analyze the extent of the role of transparency and professional assistance, particularly by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) in the management of regional finances toward the implementation of follow‐up audit recommendations. Using data from provincial, city, and district governments in Indonesia in 2014–2016 in Indonesia, with a final sample of 1494 observations. The results of the study indicate that the level of transparency can play a role in increasing the level of suitability of the implementation of follow‐up audit recommendations that have been given by external auditors (the Supreme Audit Board/BPK) to the Regional Governments in Indonesia. However, although at the Provincial Government level, a positive influence was found on the existence of BPKP's assistance on the follow‐up of audit recommendations, this did not apply at the district and city level, because it was found that districts and cities that received BPKP assistance had lower audit recommendations compared to districts and cities that do not get BPKP assistance. The results of this study have implications for the strategies and policies (discretion) of Local Government officials in order to improve the suitability of the implementation of follow‐up audit recommendations. Therefore, the Central Government needs to encourage and facilitate increased transparency and implementation of follow‐up audit recommendations to the Regional Government, to optimize the achievement of governance reform goals in Indonesia, especially in order to realize accountability in regional financial management.
This research is aimed at finding out the influence of lecturers' language style on students' academic self-efficacy in higher education in Indonesia. This research is conducted to describe the correlation between lecturers' language style and students' academic. As one of the aspects of forming academic self-efficacy, language style has an important role because someone who can get information verbally about his ability in mastering certain duty tends to do more efforts. In addition, it makes him more diligent in doing a duty. Also, language style positively increases the student's self-confidence and vice verse. This research involves seventy students who fill in the questionnaire about the lecturer language style and academic self-efficacy scale. Data were analyzed by using simple linear regression analysis. The result of the research shows that lecturer's language style has a coefficient of determination of 23.5% towards the students' academic self-efficacy. Finally, this research affirms that positive lecturer language style can improve the students' belief towards their ability while the negative language style can weaken the students' self-efficacy. This is supported by the statement of Pajares (2002) who state that the negative language style can easily weaken the students' self efficacy.
