The Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) has given a new impetus to educational transformation. In recent years, education experts recognize the profound impact that a myriad of technological innovations in ICT is having on education. They agree that education 4.0 will be shaped by innovations and will indeed have to train students to produce innovations. E-learning has become an increasingly popular learning approach in higher education institutions (HEIs) due to the rapid growth of Internet technologies in Malaysia. The technology acceptance model (TAM) proposes that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness predict applications usage. It has been integrated into many university programs and is one of the new learning trends. The study aims to investigate students’ acceptance towards e-learning system using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The study was conducted to the students that undergone the Diploma in Office Management and Technology program from the Faculty of Business and Management, UiTM Melaka. The purpose of the study conducted was to investigate the level of students’ acceptance in terms of ease of use and perceived usefulness of e-learning. A set of questionnaires was used for data collection. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the demographic characteristics of the study respondents. All analysis was performed by using SPSS. A total of 50 students completed the survey questionnaire with a satisfactory response rate. It was found that the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness has a significant effect on attitude toward e-learning. The respondents agreed that e-learning is very useful and makes it easier to study the course content. Students are found to be frequently engaged in using e-learning and believed it enhancing their academic performances. The outcomes will enrich the understanding of students’ acceptance of e-learning and will assist in its continuing implementation at UiTM Melaka.
This study examined students’ problems in learning English as a second language in higher learning institutions. This paper reports on the results of an interview of 30 randomly selected MDAB students of Diploma in Office Management and Technology at UiTM Melaka. The aim of this paper is to identify the factors that contribute to the decreasing of students’ achievement in the English language. The discussion revealed the different reasons that students face in speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. In learning a second language, it is of utmost importance that learners receive maximum support in terms of a supportive and conducive learning environment as well as an adequate and meaningful language experience. This research hopes to enlighten students in learning the English language so that they may strive to improve their English skills, thus making language teaching and learning more effective and meaningful for both lecturers and students.
The adoption of green behaviour is critical to reduce the environmental impacts. In response to demands for environmental sustainability, the Higher Education Institution (HEI) is promoting green campus development more aggressively. Guided by Social Cognitive Theory (SCT), this paper aims to identify student’s environmental attitude and behaviour towards green concepts. Data was collected through an online survey among 116 students. The findings revealed recycling behavior was at low level, whereas students’ energy conservation was at high level practices. These findings are based on the notion that embedding “green office” topics in course syllabus might increase knowledge and further influence behavioural change regarding green behavior among university students. The findings could contribute to the development of a long-term green nation by incorporating environmental sustainability into learning outcomes based on a curriculum framework as the university students are expected to be the most informed and aware about environmental issues.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
