This study deals with students’ pronunciation errors in English consonants. It was conducted under the consideration that pronouncing English words played an important role. A descriptive qualitative was used as the research method. The subject of this research was forty seven students of first year of English Language Education Study Program at Pamane Talino College of Education, Landak Regency, West Kalimantan. Pronunciation test and interview were used to collect data. The result reveals that the students got difficulties in pronouncing /θ/, /ð/, /ʃ/, /ʒ/, /tʃ/ and /dʒ/. Then, the factors affecting the students’ pronunciation are interference, phonological system and motivation.
The 4.0 growing Industry pushes trading and marketing into the digital market. Facebook allows everyone to stay connected virtually. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Facebook has become a popular digital market. The use of English dictions is booming in marketing promotion as and it is widely used by millennial online marketers in West Borneo when promoting their products using buzzwords. The data in this study were taken from one year of document observation in several online trading groups on Facebook. The study aims at finding out the error used by online marketers when posting their promotions. The study found that they used English as a "trend" rather than creating buzzwords. The in-depth interviews found that online marketers did not realize that they have used inappropriate words. The correct writing of it is often neglected without any correction as long as it sounds English and commonly used. The results of this study may reflect the language used-error analysis in future studies. Moreover, educating millennial-online marketers is considered beneficial for the sake of language politeness.
Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu para guru menapaki industri 4.0. Kemampuan penggunaan komputer menjadi sangat penting baik untuk peningkatan kemampuan diri, pengajaran maupun admnistrasi sekolah. Peserta pelatihan komputer dasar ini adalah guru-guru Sekolah Luar Biasa se-kabupaten Landak sebanyak 20 orang. Target dari pelatihan ini adalah mereka mampu menguasai tiga program komputer dasar yaitu: Power Point, Prezi, dan Microsoft Excel dengan versi terbaru. Ketiga program tersebut dipilih untuk diajarkan karena program- program tersebutlah yang paling sering digunakan dalam pengajaran maupun presentasi (PowerPoint & Prezi) dan administrasi sekolah (Microsoft Excel). Hasil observasi awal yang dilakukan peneliti menemukan bahwa kemampuan penggunaan komputer para guru masih rendah. Meskipun begitu mereka sangat antusias dengan program ini. Motivasi mereka belajar komputer sangat tinggi. Peningkatan kemampuan penggunaan komputer terlihat jelas dari praktek mereka mendesain presentasi di PowerPoint dan Prezi. Peningkatan yang paling signifikan adalah penggunaan Microsoft Excel untuk administrasi sekolah. Sebagai contoh, selama ini mereka menghitung rata-rata nilai siswa secara manual dengan kalkulator dan hp walaupun mereka mengetik di Excel. Sekarang mereka sudah bisa mengunakan sheet dan menyeting rumus otomatis didalamnya.
Making mistakes when using conditional sentences is common for foreign language learners. Errors in this study are in accordance with the error classification surface strategy taxonomy, namely omission, addition, misform ation and misordering. The purposes of this study are to identify and to classify the types of error and to find the factors causing errors in the use of conditional sentences. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method that is a case study with taxonomic analysis. Data collection techniques were carried out using test and interview. The research subject was third semester students of the English Language Education Study Program 2018/2019 of Pamane Talino College of Education in Landak Regency, West Kalimantan. The results show that 30.27% of students make omission errors, 21.11% addition errors, 34.86% misformation errors and 13.76% misordering errors. The factors that cause errors are found from the system's own target language (intralingual). The main error factors classified as intralingual errors in this study are: incomplete knowledge in verb forms, incomplete application of rules and false concept hypothesis.
Abstrak _________________________________________________________ Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) adalah salah satu bagian penting dalam proses pembelajaran dengan tujuan untuk memberikan instruksi di dalam kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi aspek-aspek RPP Kurikulum 2013 yang disusun oleh para calon guru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatitf. Sejumlah sepuluh RPP dari lima calon guru dianalisis menggunakan analisis dokumen dengan teori dari Brown (2001), di antaranya yaitu tujuan, indikator, materi dan sumber belajar, langkah-langkah pembelajaran dan penilaian. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa para calon guru sudah bagus dalam menyusun tujaun pembelajaran, materi dan sumber belajar dan langkah-langkah pembelajaran, namun mereka masih harus meningkatkan kemampuan dalam menyusun indikator dan penilaian. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa para calon guru telah mampu menyusun RPP mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris berdasarkan karakteristik pada Kurikulum 2013. AbstractLesson plan is one of the pivotal parts in learning process since it provides the instructions in the classroom. This study deals with the investigation of the aspects of pre-service teachers' lesson plans based on 2013 Curriculum. It used descriptive qualitative research. As many as ten lesson plans by five pre-service teachers were analysed using document analysis based on theory of Brown (2001) namely goals, objectives, materials and equipment, procedures and evaluation to collect data. The result shows that they are good in creating goals, material and equipment and procedure, but they should improve their ability in creating objectives and evaluation. In short, they are able to design English lesson plans based on its characteristics of 2013 curriculum.
