O produto natural 3-(5,7-dimethoxy-2,2-dimethyl-2H-benzo[b]-pyran-6-yl), C16H20O5, é um ácido propanoico extraído da Adiscanthus fusciflorus (Rutaceae), cuja amostra foi coletada de raízes e folhas em Manaus (AM) 1 . Tal composto apresenta atividade inibitória contra a adenina fosforibosiltransferase (APRT) da Leishmania tarentolae, que é um protozoário causador de doenças em que os quadros sintomáticos vão de lesões cutâneas até enfermidades viscerais graves 2 . A elucidação estrutural nos permite entender suas propriedades e extrair informações sobre as interações moleculares e empacotamento cristalino 3,4 . Esse entendimento auxilia na elucidação de aplicações (1) biológicas, (2) tecnológicas e (3) materiais. Através da metodologia cristalográfica podemos interpretar as interações responsáveis pelo empacotamento utilizando as superfícies de Hirshfeld 5,6 . Esta superfície é uma metodologia gráfica baseada na densidade eletrônica de uma molécula e sua vizinhança 6 , identificando as regiões de possíveis interações moleculares. Construímos essas superfícies para o composto C16H20O5 e algumas regiões de interação molecular foram denotadas, conforme Figura 1.
