ABSTRACTPISA results state that Indonesian students have low literacy skills. The purpose of this study was to see whether there was a realistic mathematics education effect on the mathematics literacy skills of the second grade students of SD Hang Tuah 10 Juanda. The existence of the environment, the average mathematical literacy ability of the experimental class students who were taught with the RME model was better in accordance with the control class using the TPS model. This type of research used in this research is quantitative research with a quasi experimental design type Posttest-Only. The population in this study were students of class II SD Hang Tuah 10 Juanda. The sample was taken using cluster random sampling technique in order to obtain class II-D as the experimental class and II-E as the control class. The data techniques used were tests, observation, and documentation techniques. The observation sheet and story test were data aids used in this study, while the data analysis test used SPSS 22. The results showed that there was an effect of realistic mathematics education on the mathematics literacy skills of grade II students of SD Hang Tuah 10 Juanda. This is indicated by the ability of the experimental class students' average mathematical literacy taught with the RME model better than the control class taught with the TPS model.
