The chemical investigation of the cytotoxic and antituberculosis active MeOH crude extract of the marine sponge Pachychalina sp. led to the isolation of six new nitrogenous metabolites, including ingenamine G (1), as well as a mixture of new cyclostellettamines G, H, I, K, and L (10-14) with the known cyclostellettamines A-F (4-9). Structural assignments of compound 1 were based on the analysis of MS and NMR data, while the structures of compounds 10-14 could be established by HPLC-MS/MS analysis. Ingenamine G displayed cytotoxic activity against HCT-8 (colon), B16 (leukemia), and MCF-7 (breast) cancer cell lines, antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 25923), Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922), and four oxacilin-resistant S. aureus strains, and antimycobacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv.
Four bis-piperidine alkaloids, madangamine F (1), haliclonacyclamine F (2). and arenosclerins D (3) and E (4), have been isolated from the marine sponge Pachychalina alcaloidifera and have been identified by analysis of spectroscopic data. The alkaloids displayed cytotoxic activity against different cancer cell lines. These results support the hypothesis of a common biogenetic origin for the Haplosclerida bis-piperidine and bis-pyridine alkaloids.

The known bromotyrosine compounds, 2-(3,5-dibromo-4-methoxyphenyl)-N,N,Ndimethylethanammonium (2) and 2,6-dibromo-4-(2-(trimethylammonium)ethyl)phenol (3), have been isolated from the sponge Verongula gigantea. Devido à sua enorme biodiversidade o Brasil tem papel importante a desempenhar, e o levantamento dos recursos biológicos nas 200 milhas da Zona Econômica Exclusiva de nossa costa marítima inserese de forma marcante neste contexto mais amplo. O levantamento de recursos brasileiros em espécies marinhas ainda é incipiente, levando-se em conta que outras nações aceleram seus programas em quí-mica e farmacologia de organismos marinhos, almejando a obtenção de patentes para moléculas de interesse farmacológico derivadas destes organismos.A química de produtos naturais marinhos constitui um ramo da química de produtos naturais que atingiu excelência em pesquisa a partir dos anos 80. Atualmente, são conhecidas mais de 10.000 substâncias do metabolismo secundário de invertebrados e microorganismos marinhos, muito menor do que o número de substâncias isoladas a partir de plantas e microorganismos terrestres, cerca de 150.000 no total 1 . A diversidade estrutural dessas substâncias, associada às suas atividades biológicas, tem atraído continuamente a atenção de diversos grupos de pesquisa do mundo inteiro 2 . Todavia, no Brasil, a pesquisa em produtos naturais de origem marinha é ainda incipiente, apesar de ter sido iniciada há mais de 30 anos, segundo Kelecom 3,4 . Ao longo dos últimos anos, temos continuamente investigado o metabolismo secundário de invertebrados e microorganismos marinhos, objetivando não somente o isolamento de produtos naturais biologicamente ativos, mas também estruturalmente inéditos ou taxonomicamente relevantes [5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14] , focalizando particularmente produtos naturais de esponjas e ascídias. Esses dois grupos de invertebrados têm sido continuamente explorados durante os últimos 25 anos, devido ao potencial de aplicação farmacológica de várias substâncias isoladas desses animais 15 . Um levantamento realizado por pesquisadores do "National Cancer Institute" indicou que, dentre as fontes naturais de substâncias anti-tumorais, os organismos marinhos são os que forneceram o maior número de extratos orgânicos com altas porcentagens de atividade anti-tumoral 16,17 . Os triterpenos de T. burserifolia, T. rhoifolia e Dacryodes foram analisados em mistura. Os espectros de RMN 13 C mostraram que os principais triterpenos eram α-amirina e estigmasterol em D. hopkinsii. Besides it was isolated the new monoterpene 2(S*)-phenylacetoxy-4(R*)-p-mentha-1(7),5-diene and, the new triterpenes 3βphenylacetoxyurs-12-ene, 3β-phenylacetoxyolean-12-ene and 3β,16β,11α-trihydroxyurs-12-ene. The triterpenes from T. burserifolia, T. rhoifolia and Dacryodes were analyzed in mixture. Their 13 C NMR spectra showed that the major triterpenes were in T. burserifolia α-amyrin and β-amyrin; in T. rhoifolia α-amyrin, β-amyrin, 3-epi-α-amyrin, 3-epi-β-amyrin, and lupenone; in T. rhoifolia αamyrin, β-amyrin, 3-epi-α-amyrin, 3-epi-β-amyrin, 3α-hydroxytirucall-8,24-dien-21-oic acid and 3α-hydroxytirucall-7,24-dien-21-oic acid; in D. hopkinsii α-amyrin, β-amyrin, lupeol, tirucallol, sitosterol and stigmasterol. Aspects of chemosystematic of the tribe Protieae are discussed.
A investigação química do extrato bruto obtido a partir do meio de crescimento do actinomiceto Streptomyces acrimycini isolado de sedimentos marinhos levou ao isolamento de dois dipeptídeos: a 8-amino-[1,4]diazonano-2,5-diona (1) e leucil-4-hidroxiprolina (3). Os compostos foram isolados a partir do seu meio de crescimento por uma série de etapas cromatográficas e identificados pela análise de seus dados espectroscópicos. O esqueleto macrocíclico da 8-amino-[1,4]diazonano-2,5-diona foi descrito apenas uma vez nas marinobactinas, sideróforos isolados a partir de uma bactéria marinha do gênero Marinobacter.The chemical investigation of the crude extract obtained from the growth media of the marinederived actinomycete Streptomyces acrimycini isolated from marine sediments led to the isolation of two new dipeptide derivatives: 8-amino-[1,4]diazonane-2,5-dione (1) and leucyl-4-hydroxyproline (3). The dipeptides were isolated from the growth media by a series of chromatographic steps, and identified by analysis of spectroscopic data. The macrocyclic carbon backbone of 8-amino-[1,4]diazonane-2,5-dione has been previously reported only once in marinobactins, siderophores isolated from the marine bacterium Marinobacter sp.
