Résumé Notre objectif est de comparer, chez des adultes jeunes (21,5 ans) et âgés (75,3 ans), la compréhension d’énoncés contenant un homophone dans un contexte de phrase antérieure qui permet ou non de lever l’ambiguïté. Une tâche de sélection du dessin illustrant l’énoncé ambigu permet d’en évaluer l’interprétation. Les sens des homophones différaient ou non en fréquence et variaient ou non sur les estimations de familiarité fournies par des personnes issues des mêmes générations. Les résultats indiquent un effet facilitateur du contexte sur la décision sémantique qui s’accroît avec l’âge. Les sélections dépendent de la familiarité, en se portant sur le sens dominant pour la génération d’appartenance. La fréquence n’a pas d’effet sur la décision, les sens les plus et les moins fréquents étant aussi souvent sélectionnés.
Résumé Dans le cadre d'hypothèses énonciatives et du fait de l'ambiguïté quant à la référence, statique ou cinétique, des énoncés décrivant des changements d'état, des sujets de 3;0 à 6;6 ans ont été confrontés à une situation comportant deux phases de production. Dans la première, on demande de décrire un état postural ; dans la seconde, des questions impliquant la détermination d'une transformation sont introduites dans une situation extra-linguistique ne présentant que des états. Cette transformation est reconstituable à partir d'un état postural analogue à celui décrit dans la première phase. Dans une première condition, c'est la situation extralinguistique, et, dans une seconde condition, c'est la question elle-même qui suggère cet état. La mise en relation des réponses aux questions relatives à la transformation avec celles obtenues dans la phase initiale met en évidence une augmentation avec l'âge des énoncés comportant des marques de construction d'un procès. Le poids de la situation extra-linguistique dans la construction de la référence diminue avec l'âge non seulement dans la détermination cinétique/statique, mais aussi dans la manière d'exprimer la transformation. La comparaison des réponses aux deux questions fait apparaître que lorsque l'état final est suggéré par la question, entre 3 et 5 ans, plus d'énoncés réfèrent à la qualification de ce seul état, tandis qu'entre 5 et 6;6 ans, des déterminations plus précises de la transformation sont introduites. Résumé L’objectif de la recherche est d’étudier l’influence du vieillissement sur l’accès au nom des personnes et sur l’« effet d’éventail », perturbant la récupération de connaissances en mémoire à long terme, lorsque davantage d’informations ont été apprises. Des participants, d’âge moyen de 21,6 ans et de 71,1 ans, devaient acquérir des faits relatifs à des personnes, dans des énoncés associant le patronyme et la profession (condition « non éventail ») ou le nom et trois attributs de la personne (condition d’« éventail »). Afin d’étudier le rôle bénéfique de la création d’un modèle mental, lors de la récupération des souvenirs, les attributs étaient indépendants (« éventail non lié ») ou liés sémantiquement (« éventail lié »). Le rappel des faits acquis a été observé dans une tâche de complètement de phrases, où était omis le nom ou un attribut de la personne. La tâche de reconnaissance chronométrée consistait à décider si des phrases proposées, une à une, figuraient ou non dans le matériel étudié. Les performances de rappel montrent que les adultes âgés ont restitué moins de patronymes et ont été plus sensibles que les jeunes adultes à l’éventail d’informations indépendantes. Néanmoins, l’amélioration du rappel, en condition d’« éventail lié », indique qu’ils ont su exploiter la possibilité de regroupement des attributs pour accéder aux faits appris. L’analyse des réponses de reconnaissance n’indique pas d’effet de l’âge. Dans aucun des groupes, la présence du lien sémantique n’a bénéficié aux jugements de reconnaissance. Dans les deux groupes, le taux de décisions correctes décroît de la condition « non éventail » aux conditions d’« éventail ». Bien que le temps de décision soit supérieur chez les participants âgés, la latence des réponses augmente en fonction de la taille de l’éventail, quel que soit l’âge.
