This research aimed to evaluate the level of Spiritual/Religious Coping (SRC) of women with breast cancer. This is a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study. A total of 94 mastectomized women who participated in the study were enrolled in a rehabilitation center of a higher education institution of São Paulo. Data were collected from October 2013 to June 2014 using a questionnaire with sociodemographic, clinical, and spiritual/religious data, stressor stimulus associated with breast cancer, and the SRCOPE-Short Scale. All participants used SRC, 76.6% at high/very high level, and 23.4% at medium level; positive SRC (mean 3.41; standard deviation 0.59) was more used than negative SRC (mean 1.27; standard deviation 0.40), confirmed by the NSRC/PSRC ratio (mean 0.38; standard deviation 0.14). The SRC proved to be an important coping strategy in stress situations experienced by women with breast cancer and helpful in coping with the disease and the consequences of the treatments.
This quantitative, descriptive and cross study, which aimed to identify and assess the contribution of the Students’ League in the education undergraduate nursing. Data were collected from May to August 2010, using a semi-structured questionnaire, applied to graduate students on the premises of an institution of higher education and sent via electronic mail, to the graduates, a total of 22 respondents linked to a league preventing and combating cancer. The answers were structured in a database in Excel (Windows 2007), and after, the analysis performed by means of Epi Info software, using descriptive statistics. Respected the ethical rules. All respondents said that the league has contributed to academic learning. The League proved to be an important educational strategy, contributing to training to critical reflection on oncology and promoting humane care.

Objective: to understand the meaning of work activities for young women with breast cancer. Method: a qualitative study that used as a theoretical framework the Symbolic Interactionism and, as the methodological framework, the Discourse of the Collective Subject. It was developed in a mastology outpatient clinic and a mastectomized rehabilitation center whose data collection took place between February 2014 and January 2015. Twelve women between 18 and 40 years old with up to one year of diagnosis of breast cancer participated, being excluded those with metastasis; interviewed from the guiding question: how is it for you to be young with breast cancer, in relation to work? Thematic content analysis was applied. Results: the following theoretical categories emerged: young women’s feelings about having to stop working due to breast cancer and its treatments; quitting work meant annoyance and discouragement; change in income and collection by herself raised concern about the financial contribution; physical changes changing work activities, meaning limitation and impairment; work as an opportunity to live a better life, as a meaning of freedom; lack of collaboration of colleagues in the work environment whose significance was difficulties in the work environment; solidarity and positivity at work and family support that provided them with encouragement to cope with the disease. Conclusion: it was difficult to experience and accept changes in work activities. The support of family, friends and coworkers was paramount to cope with this process, which should also be taken into account by the health team, especially nursing.
Objective: to analyze the perceptions of women with breast cancer about the benefits and barriers to the participation in rehabilitation groups, according to the Health Belief Model. Method: a descriptive study with qualitative approach, conducted in 2011. Participants were eight women, aged from 54 to 67 years, after surgery for breast cancer, and members of a rehabilitation group. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and focus groups. thematic Content analysis of the data was performed. Results: perceived benefits: physical improvement with possibility to return to daily activities; bond with multidisciplinary team; psychological support; opportunity to share experiences, clarify doubts and feel like “equals” Perceived barriers: appointment day and time; physical space; housework; time consuming and disposal. Conclusion: women saw benefits of having a preventive health behavior; however, they recognized significant barriers that must be faced in the rehabilitation process.
Analisar perfil epidemiológico de mulheres jovens com câncer de mama, cadastradas no Registro Hospitalar de Câncer (RHC) de um hospital paulista; investigar associação entre classificação HER-2 e troca de protocolo quimioterápico; investigar associação do óbito por câncer de mama com variáveis do estudo. Participaram 327 mulheres diagnosticadas com câncer de mama, entre 18 e 40 anos, de janeiro/2006 a dezembro/2019. Dados coletados do RHC e prontuários médicos. Associação bivariada com desfecho óbito deu-se com testes Qui-Quadrado e Exato de Fisher (p<0,05). Maioria: mais que 30 anos ao diagnóstico; brancas, casadas, ensino médio; trabalhadoras ativas; sobrepeso; sedentárias; tumores T2/T3; uso de contraceptivo oral por tempo prolongado. Óbito por câncer de mama esteve associado a: negra/mulata; uso de contraceptivo oral por tempo prolongado; tabagismo; estadiamento avançado; quimioterapia neoadjuvante. São necessárias ações que minimizem fatores de risco modificáveis conhecidos; propiciem maior suspeição clínica, diagnóstico e intervenções precoces, melhor prognóstico.
Introdução: A espiritualidade vem ganhando relevância no contexto da formação profissional em saúde. Compreender a percepção dos graduandos de enfermagem sobre a relação da espiritualidade com a saúde é fundamental para propostas de inserção mais efetivas deste tema nos currículos de graduação de cursos de enfermagem. Objetivo: Identificar o conhecimento dos graduandos de enfermagem sobre o cuidado espiritual no âmbito da saúde. Material e Métodos: Estudo misto, descritivo, exploratório, transversal, com análise estatística descritiva e de conteúdo, do tipo temática dedutiva e indutiva. Participaram 46 graduandos em enfermagem de uma universidade privada do interior do estado de São Paulo, distribuídos do 3º ao 7º período, maiores de 18 anos. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre os meses de maio e julho de 2020, por formulário eletrônico via e-mail, contendo questões referentes aos dados sociodemográficos e por outro específico sobre a espiritualidade. Resultados: A maioria dos participantes já ouviu falar da espiritualidade em saúde em algum momento, entretanto não na prática clínica. Todos os participantes consideram o tema de extrema importância e gostariam que fosse abordado de maneira transversal na graduação. Conclusão: É urgente a inserção de uma disciplina ou estratégias de aprendizagem que abordem o cuidado espiritual na formação de enfermeiros, dada sua importância clínica, correlacionando-a com a prática assistencial no intuito de desenvolver nos futuros enfermeiros o raciocínio clínico crítico e reflexivo frente a essa dimensão humana.
