ResumoA mulher atual assumiu muitos papéis antes desempenhados pelos homens, o que trouxe mudanças não apenas para sua rotina, mas também para seus projetos de vida. A maternidade tem sofrido o impacto dessas mudanças. Investigaram-se os múltiplos papéis exercidos pela mulher contemporânea e a relação dessa multiplicidade de papéis com a maternidade tardia. Utilizaram-se dois instrumentos: fi cha de dados sociodemográfi cos e entrevista semiestruturada sobre a multiplicidade de papéis da mulher e sobre maternidade. Construíram-se três categorias a partir da análise de conteúdo: multiplicidade de papéis da mulher contemporânea, refl exões sobre maternidade e maternidade tardia versus rotina atual. Se por um lado, as mulheres sofrem prejuízos em função do excesso de tarefas, por outro, elas se sentem felizes por ocuparem seus postos de trabalho. A maternidade tardia é uma opção para mulheres que trabalham e que mantém relações estáveis com seus companheiros. Entretanto, observaram-se sentimentos como medo, insegurança e ambivalência em relação à maternidade tardia. Palavras-chave:Mulher, maternidade tardia, família. The Multiple Roles of Contemporary Women and Late Motherhood AbstractWomen currently have taken on many roles, previously fi lled by men, which not only changed their everyday lives but also impacted their life projects. Motherhood has been impacted in important ways by this change. We investigated the multiple roles played by contemporary woman and the relation between this multiplicity of roles and late motherhood. Two instruments were used: a socio-demographic profi le and a semi-structured interview about the multiple roles of women and motherhood. We constructed three categories based on content analysis of the interviews: the multiple roles of contemporary women; refl ections on motherhood; and late motherhood's impact on current routine. If, on one hand, women are negatively affected due to the additional workload, on the other they feel happy to have developed a career. Late motherhood is an option for women who intend to develop their careers and maintain stable relationships with their partners. However, the women also reported feelings such as fear, insecurity and ambivalence related to late motherhood.

The quality of the maternal bond can be disrupted in women exposed to intimate partner violence (IPV), causing them to be less available to their children. The aim of this study was to examine difficulties in emotional regulation in women exposed to IPV and the impact of IPV on both the maternal bond and posttraumatic symptoms among children. A cross-sectional study was carried out with two groups: IPV dyads ( n = 36) comprising mothers who had been exposed to IPV and their children, and control dyads ( n = 27) comprising non-abused mothers and their children. Information was obtained via structured interviews including scales regarding IPV, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms, maternal bond, and difficulties in emotional regulation. Correlation analyses showed a positive association between the severity of IPV, PTSD symptom severity in children, and difficulties of emotional regulation in mothers. They also showed a negative association between IPV and the quality of the maternal bond. Regression models demonstrated that exposure to sexual IPV, maternal difficulties in emotion regulation, and younger age of the mother are important predictors of lower quality of the maternal bond. Difficulties in emotional regulation and sexual IPV disrupted the quality of the maternal bond among women and their children. In addition, lower quality of maternal bond was associated with higher PSTD symptoms among children.

Os dados sobre violência conjugal costumam ser imprecisos devido a diversos fatores. Entre eles, o fato de retratarem, preponderantemente, a violência visível (física ou sexual), serem obtidos em delegacias e basearem-se na visão de apenas um dos parceiros; sendo que muitos casos não são denunciados. O objetivo deste estudo foi mapear a violência conjugal no Rio Grande do Sul, em relação à presença de coerção sexual, agressão física e psicológica. Participaram 751 casais de distintas regiões do Estado. Os instrumentos foram: questionário de dados sociodemográficos e Revised Conflict Tactics Scales (CTS2). Os resultados evidenciaram índices elevados de violência mútua e simétrica entre os casais, ou seja, cometida por ambos os parceiros. Identificou-se que a idade, a escolaridade, a renda e o tempo de relacionamento estiveram associados aos níveis de violência conjugal em suas diferentes dimensões (p < 0,05). Ressalta-se a necessidade de se repensar as intervenções com casais em situação de violência.

ResumoO objetivo deste estudo é investigar a estrutura fatorial do Questionário de Estilos Parentais (PAQ) desenvolvido por John Buri. A amostra estratificada foi composta por 323 estudantes de ambos os sexos que cursam uma universidade particular. Foi utilizada a análise de componentes principais, com rotação oblimin, empregando a regra de Kaiser (retenção dos autovalores maiores que 1). A análise demonstrou a presença de três fatores com autovalores superiores a 1. O total dos fatores explica 43,96% da variância total do construto estilos parentais. O primeiro fator explica 25,70%; o segundo, 11,77%; e o terceiro, 6,49%. Os três fatores alcançaram um nível de consistência interna satisfatório. Os resultados sugerem possibilidades positivas de aplicação do instrumento em nossa realidade, mas faz-se necessário o desenvolvimento de futuros estudos sobre o instrumento em amostras diversificadas. The factorial analysis of Parental Authoritative Questionnaire in a sample of college young adults AbstractThe aim of this study was to investigate the factorial structure of the Parental Authoritative Questionnaire (PAQ) elaborated by John Buri. The stratified sample was composed of 323 male and female private university students. It was used principal components analysis, with oblimin rotation, using the Kaiser rule (retention of eigenvalues higher than 1). The analysis showed tree factors with eigenvalues superior than 1. The total of the factors explains 43,96% of the total variance about the parental style construct. The first factor explains 25,70%, the second one, 11,77% and the third one, 6,49%. The tree factors had satisfactory internal consistence. The results suggests positive measure's applications on our reality, but it is necessary the development of future studies concerning this questionnaire in diversified samples. IntroduçãoQuando falamos em estilos parentais, torna-se imprescindível falarmos de contexto familiar, desenvolvimento humano e socialização. Partindo do desenvolvimento humano desejado, o microssistema familiar tem como uma de suas funções primordiais ser o primeiro ambiente de socialização dos seus membros. A sociedade espera que a família possa preparar seus filhos para a convivência social. Será tarefa fundamental da família, então, proporcionar o desenvolvimento físico e emocional, assim como a independência de seus membros (Baumrind, 1980(Baumrind, , 1996Lane, 1999;Musito & Cava, 2001;Ruiz & Esteban, 1999). Essa função se dá a partir de algumas atitudes que são assumidas com exclusividade pela família, e outras são realizadas pelas demais instituições sociais. As atitudes e ações socializadoras e de aprendizagem da família referem-se principalmente a: cuidados físicos, relações interpessoais, formação de vínculos, atividades lúdicas, inserção escolar e social, atividade...

Partindo da premissa de que a família possui tarefas essenciais para a formação e o desenvolvimento dos seus membros, o presente estudo buscou identificar as correlações existentes entre as estratégias educacionais, estilos atribucionais e bem-estar psicológico em adultos jovens universitários. Foram realizadas análises correlacionais e de regressão múltipla. Os resultados apontam que o estilo parental autorizante, de forma geral, tem desdobramentos que se expressam em elevados níveis de bem-estar. Quanto ao estilo parental autoritário, notou-se que à maior intensidade do autoritarismo no estilo, há correspondência de maiores níveis de estabilidade na atribuição causal. Concernente aos estilos atribucionais, percebeu-se que as dimensões globalidade e estabilidade corresponderam a piores níveis de bem-estar psicológico. Esses achados salientam a importância dos efeitos dos estilos parentais e estilos atribucionais no bem-estar psicológico para futuras ações psico-educativas.

Intimate male partner violence against women has been recognized as an important public health problem, with a high impact on women's mental health, including depressive and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms. However, fathers who have been involved in intimate partner violence (IPV) have an increased probability of being violent toward their children. The aim of this study was to assess the relation between the mental health status of abused women, their partner's violence toward the children, and their maternal behavior.

Emotional regulation is a recent construct with few adapted instruments in Brazil capable of measuring it. This study aimed to find evidences of content validity, internal consistency and reliability of the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) for the Brazilian context. The participants were 402 adults (78.1% women) aged between 18 to 71 years, of which 86.8% resided in Rio Grande do Sul. We revised an adaptation of the referred instrument to facilitate the understanding of the items. In order to test the most appropriate structure to the Brazilian context, we performed a confirmatory factor analysis, comparing the original instrument structure to that validated to Portuguese. The results showed that DERS had good psychometric properties, exhibiting validity and reliability for the Brazilian sample. The factorial structure was equivalent to the original version, containing six dimensions.
