RESUMO (Palinotaxonomia de espécies do gênero Acacia (Leguminosae-Mimosoideae) no semi-árido brasileiro) Foi realizado o estudo palinológico de 12 espécies de Acacia: A. farnesiana (Acacia subg. Acacia) e A. bahiensis, A. globosa, A. kallunkiae, A. langsdorffii, A. martiusiana, A. monacantha, A. piauhiensis, A. polyphylla, A. riparia, A. tenuifolia e A. velutina (Acacia subg. Aculeiferum).
This paper presents the results of a palynological study of the species of Graphistylis that were segregated from Senecio (s.l.) (Senecio sect. Dichroa) and that are all endemic of Brazil. These species are found in mountainous regions of the states of Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Santa Catarina. The pollen grains of eight species were acetolyzed and analyzed and photographed using light microscopy. Unacetolyzed pollen grains were analyzed and photomicrographed using scanning electron microscopy. The current study undertook a palynologically analysis of Graphistylis in order to obtain information useful for making a better ranking of these genus. The results show medium-sized pollen grains that were oblate spheroidal or prolate spheroidal and subtriangular amb and tricolporate. The pollen grains possessed lalongate endoapertures with a median constriction and the presence of costa in only two species. The exine is echinate with a varying number of spines in the apocolpium region around the central spine in polar view. The spines are short with basal perforations at varying distances. Although the morphology of the pollen of species of Graphistylis is very similar, multivariate analysis highlights the importance of quantitative traits in distinguishing species.
RESUMO -(Palinotaxonomia de espécies de Palavras-chave: Compositae, palinologia, taxonomia,VernoniinaeABSTRACT -(Palynotaxonomy of Chrysolaena H. Rob., Echinocoryne H. Rob. and Stenocephalum Sch. Bip. (Vernonieae-Compositae) species from Southeast Brazil). A pollen study of 11 species distributed in three genera, Chrysolaena H. Rob., Echinocoryne H. Rob. and Stenocephalum Sch. Bip. belonging to the Vernoniinae subtribe was carried out to characterize the pollen of these species and evaluate their taxonomic position. The pollen grains were acetolysed, analyzed and illustrated using light microscopy. For further details of pollen surface and aperture, non-acetolysed pollen grains were analysed by means of scanning and transmition electron microscopy. The genera were separated by a pollen key in two major groups using organization and number of lacunae that form the lophate pattern. In the first group, Echinocoryne H. Rob. species have pollen grains with 30 lacunae and in a second group, Chrysolaena H. Rob. and Stenocephalum Sch. Bip. species with 29 lacunae. Echinocoryne H. Rob. species are palynologically homogenous and only Echinocoryne holosericea (Mart. ex DC.) H. Rob. and Echinocoryne schwenkiaefolia (Mart. ex DC.) H. Rob. can be separated from Echinocoryne pungens (Gardn.) H. Rob. and Echinocoryne stricta (Gardn.) H. Rob. The last two could not be distinguished using pollen characters. Our datashow that pollen characters alone are not enough to define the three genera.
Little, G. opposita (Vell.) Reitz, G. pernambucencis (Casar.) Lund., Leucaster caniflorus (Mart.)
