El presente trabajo presenta un proyecto de investigación donde se profundizó en el uso de las estrategias de enseñanza de vocabulario en inglés. En el mismo se propone un estudio cualitativo de nivel exploratorio con el empleo de la técnica de la observación no participante. Este estudio es de gran importancia ya que contribuye al aprendizaje del vocabulario por parte de los estudiantes en el proceso de enseñanza del idioma inglés, así como provee a los docentes de estrategias diversas que pueden contribuir a este propósito a partir de las necesidades de los estudiantes.
El objetivo de esta investigación es la sustentación teórica de un proyecto de investigación que se propuso establecer los efectos del diseño curricular en el aprendizaje del idioma inglés en los estudiantes de la ESPOCH. Se considera también que el paradigma crítico-propositivo mejorará diferentes puntos de vista para buscar soluciones en un entorno de descripción y comprensión del proceso educativo, social y cultural.
El presente trabajo se efectuó en Cumandá, durante el periodo 2011, el objetivo principal fue: Indagar de qué manera incide la práctica del idioma Inglés en los servicios que ofertan las operadoras de turismo en la Zona Centro Norte, Cantón Cumandá, Provincia de Chimborazo, y por ello proponemos elaborar un folleto con frases básicas en idioma inglés para facilitar la comunicación, a través del Gobierno Seccional y Local del Cantón Cumandá. Una vez realizado el estudio, el acercamiento logístico y obtenido los resultados tabulados de las encuestas realizadas a los operadores de turismo, se pudo proponer un folleto para la preparación de los operadores turísticos en lengua inglesa para la mejora de su desempeño.
El presente artículo científico exploró las percepciones de los estudiantes de un curso de inglés con fines específicos (ESP) en la carrera de medicina en la Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo. Además, esta investigación tuvo como objetivo principal realizar un análisis de necesidades para estudiantes de la carrera de Medicina con el fin de identificar sus necesidades y carencias en concordancia con su aprendizaje de inglés para sus futuras vidas profesionales. Con este fin, se administraron cuestionarios a setenta y seis estudiantes de la carrera de Medicina con el fin de obtener información relevante sobre las percepciones de los estudiantes sobre ESP para identificar y proponer una solución para las necesidades, deseos (rendimiento) y carencias (causas) de su curso de inglés. Por lo tanto, el análisis de necesidades se realizó con las percepciones obtenidas de los participantes cuyas respuestas estaban relacionadas con la implementación del enfoque ESP en su curso. Los principales hallazgos de esta investigación están relacionados con los principios básicos de ESP, que son las necesidades futuras del idioma inglés, el contenido ESP, las habilidades lingüísticas ESP y el uso de ESP para la vida profesional futura de los estudiantes. El análisis de las percepciones de los estudiantes a través de la implementación del análisis de necesidades es el principal punto de referencia para la aplicación de un curso ESP y la implementación de un sílabo e innovar el plan de estudios de carrera.
